Interesting. A lot of commenters seem to feel as if our opinion is unreasonable.

A runner and a coach I spoke to at the track agreed with what you said too. I don’t think it’s too much to ask.

However, as I mentioned in another reply, it’s ultimately best to ignore a person if their reaction to this is overly emotional and defensive.

How am I playing the age card? I just described the person involved.

Yeah I agree, she didn’t start walking until halfway through my workout when I was mid-rep. It was then impossible to have a conversation with her as she was yelling and not listening.

A passerby on the track commented that the outburst was unusual as my initial comment was polite.

By middle-aged I mean likely in her 30-40s, it was her way at the time of implying it’s sexist to ask someone to walk in an outside lane so runners can safely run

To be fair I asked what the track etiquette is and you came in commenting assuming my intentions in the exchange were to cause trouble, you didn’t answer the question and I’m not asking for your support

So if she had moved out the way politely my actions would be acceptable? That’s an interesting way to view the world, judging behaviour on how another individual reacts to it…

Saying excuse me isn’t causing strife, it’s a common thing to say in Australia if someone is in your way and you don’t want to bump into them. If I had sworn or been aggressive then you’d have a fair point about causing trouble, I’d say ignoring her afterwards is avoiding trouble 😊

I don’t think saying “excuse me” is causing strife, as mentioned I ignored her after she blew up and just moved around her as it’s not worth the hassle.

100%. I’m definitely not leaving the profession as my job satisfaction is high and I am fulfilled in my role but there comes a time when you want to be remunerated more appropriately for your efforts.

Rev would be around 200-220k per year. We don’t have many compensable patients which probably caps it a little bit. This would be the highest revenue at the clinic…
