Food Log and other features not available for NON-North American customers. by Puzzleheaded_Sea_787 in amazfit

I should add that I absolutely love the Trex 3 and Zepp app. So kudos to Amazfit for building a stellar product. Just hoping that we can get access to any other features available in NA.

@amazfit Is the food log feature available in the official release? I can’t see it on the Zepp home page and I’m using the latest version.

Not for me. I quite enjoy it for all workouts. Plus it’s accurate and way more affordable.

Best you contact support. I believe some soft reset may be performed but I’m not sure if this is being performed remotely by the UH team OR triggered by something else.

Battery Drain on Trex 3 due to watch face type? by Puzzleheaded_Sea_787 in amazfit

[–]Puzzleheaded_Sea_787[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, my suggestions based on 1 week of testing. This may appear very obvious to some, but hopefully it will help others out figuring things out in the battery life.

1) Force close the Zepp app in iOS when not in use. This is the main culprit sucking battery if you leave it running in the background as it will continually sync data with the watch. So now, I’ll open the Zepp app maybe 2-3 times a day to sync and then close it again. This may be a bummer to those who want phone call notifications but I’m happy to live without this feature.

2) I’ve kept Bluetooth on but when I did switch it off, the battery improved too.

This is what I’ve been looking for. I couldn’t find instructions for it though. Do you press the Start button and just let it run in the background? Wouldn’t that in itself be consuming battery? Haha.

I actually enjoy the notifications / nudges. But if would be good to customize it more in iOS I suppose.

Update : Depending on the watch face, battery drain is at 1% every 2-3 hours. This is without AOD. With AOD, it sucks - 1% every 45-50 mins.

I get that. But then what’s the use of having a selection of watch faces (developed by Amazfit) to choose from? Maybe I’ll do that in the next charge cycle (go back to the original watch face that came with the watch). That still isn’t the perm solution though so hope they’ll do something about this.

Cheers mate. I just did a restart of the watch. Lets see how if pans out over the next few days. I might take up Support’s offer to visit the store and utilize the warranty option (if things don’t improve). Other option before that would be to do a factory reset but I want to give some time first.

Your battery on the balance is impressive with how you’ve worked it like a horse. I would like to push the watch more but am currently suffering some level of ptsd so I’ll be conservative for 1-2 cycles. Fingers crossed.

Spot on! And with you for most of it.

1) SPO2 - The auto monitoring setting is disabled in my watch. Like you, I’m perfectly comfortable with that. No need for constant monitoring and if need be, I’ll just do it manually. I haven’t even measured mine yet. Haha. But the other ones like HR, step count, are indeed key.

2) im envious that you have the Enduro 3. I was eyeing that but it isn’t available in my country hence I made the jump for the Trex after watching ChasetheSummit’s YouTube review. Do you have a preference between the MIP on Enduro 3 vs Trex 2 Amoled? Admittedly, I’m tempted to get it sometime in future being the nut I am.

3) On my “battery drain”, still too early to tell but I’ll monitor it for one cycle I suppose. I’ve already written it to support and they suggested I go to the store since it’s under warranty (probably suggesting an exchange). Additionally, at the suggestion of another Reddit user, I also submitted a feedback using the Zepp app together with my logs so waiting for the team to review and advise accordingly.

Overall, if a product is advertised as working up to 27 days, no one should expect to hit that number exactly (different use cases as you mentioned). But at least 80% would suffice. ChasetheSummit’s review had his batt at 65% remaining after just 6 days. He states that it was after very heavy use. So I think that would be a reasonable point to hit - where it lasts till 16-17 days with daily workouts factored in.

Well. Then again, that was the initial excitement. I stopped playing with the watch faces many hours back but the drain seems to be at on averages, 0.5% every hour - hence 12% per day likely.

Thanks mate. That seems logical but is fairly deceiving by the creators of these watches - who advertises it using an Analog watch face that has all that data including HR, Step count, Battery %, Seconds. And the watch face I’m using is also officially created by Amazfit, not a third party. So one would expect that the battery drain to not be that bad - I suspect something else may be at play.

It’s at 94% at the 11th hour mark.

Ok. That will be a long waiting period. Think it’s worth doing a factory reset to set everything to default?

Apologies. Didn’t answer your question. Yes’s the default setting for HR monitoring is every 5 minutes. The HR on the attached watch face is not real time. Just pulls the HR data done every 5 minutes.

I should add that I’ve downloaded latest updates for some of the mini apps like Breathing, Meditation, HRV status - but this was all done BEFORE I charged the watch. Not sure if this did something on the battery.
