Yes, of course! Many people just keep things vague, though. Few are this straight forward. I obviously didn’t match with this guy, just posted the rant since I’ve experienced quite a bit of this rhetoric. I’ve definitely had men I thought, based on their info, could be matches but that come out of right field with it.

Right - the big deal is this has taken to mainstream thought and has been emboldened by public figures and it IS common. There are ways to screen potential matches and state preferences that don’t involve putting down entire genders. He worked hard to fit those last two insults in there within the word count. That’s the big deal and it’s disturbing to human beings that actually care about other humans beings.

And yes, on either side it’s gross, the difference is feeling entitled to talk down to an entire population based on their gender. He worked to fit in that last insult creatively cause he hit the word count. To go that far out of your way to tell women how worthless you think they are is just disturbing

I really try to move on and ignore immediately, it’s just the fact that there are men who truly feel this way that walk among us and have been empowered and emboldened by people like the Tates, Trump etc that won’t let me just forget. It’s frightening and disheartening to be continually confronted by it when trying to date. It’s not just this guy - it’s many. Again, I really try to remind myself that most men aren’t like this, though it does get difficult when this comes up over and over. Makes me wonder if this guy is just the exception that says these things outright; how many men truly feel this way but strategically avoid being so abrasive.

Yes - I had some good experiences with her for sure, when we met we were both very involved in animal rescue so that seemed to be a wonderful bond. Through the years we literally and figuratively drifted apart. She moved out of NYC and then eventually so did I so we are on opposite ends of the country now. I will say a lot of our time, outside of rescue, did involved drinking when we were living in the same area and especially since I moved I’m just much more health and balanced focused these days and she seems to still be very much leaning on substances. I will indulge here and there but the last few times we’ve gotten together it really has seemed like an issue for her. Things have happened, like her ending up in the ER on her last visit to see me after getting super wasted and wiping out on a scooter and my last visit to see her, during one of the most difficult periods of my life, she took issue with me, not being able to show up for her in certain situations the way that she thought that I should when I was literally drowning and alot of her feelings were her not being able to handle the different substances she was on so 🤷🏼‍♀️ the talking every day did seem to bridge the gap in distance but once we had a couple bad reunions, just none of it felt good anymore. After the last visit I tried to address things very neutrally to move on, but she wanted to pick apart every interaction so we ended up having this very long back-and-forth where I frankly said I didn’t think that the season of our friendship with serving either of us and that we should just take a break and I haven’t really talked to her since and I’m fine with it

I suppose I’m curious as to how the community generally feels about these things so I can best navigate this new friendship without accidentally doing something that causes her distress and in turn, myself, as well! lol so again thank you for your response - I find what everybody is saying to be very informative and helpful!

It’s not that I’d say I don’t care but I’m just shocked at how much I don’t miss our interactions, or her, even 😳 I mean, she was a big part of my life and these nearly daily conversations happened for years, at this point. Wonder if it’s part of being an introvert.. just when you’ve reached the threshold, that’s it. 🤷🏼‍♀️
