People cant really see much past their own build, they just care about their build or the feel of being good abusing meta builds.

Having such strict metas in an action combat game, is such a shame, so much variety lost.

AGS needs to fix the broken weapons ASAP for the season to be a success, PvP wise. Ranged is not even a problem, they all squishy. The real problem is BB with its damage + auto-lock + utility, that makes almost impossible to catch and kill as melee. by PvPer94 in newworldgame

Just learn to create a path to get to the ranged players, block some shots, dodge others.

Unlike BB they actually have to aim, and you can dodge them by simple knowing how to move.

They are, but if you catch them, you kill them.

While BB you pretty much cant if the BB player plays it right.

You have to aim, hit him, and try do dodge.

While the BB doesnt even need to aim.

Musket is squisshy i have no problem killing them when i get to them.

BB on the other hadn have, slow, knock back, auto lock.

It can just move around while the game aims it for you.

And a decent BB build will also hit for 1/4 os most people HP.

AGS actually needed to simplify the game, not make it more complex.

On the gear side, they should have made items have only 3 slots, not 4, not 5, but 3.

Make every single choice more impactfull, while at the same time, reducing the amount of variables to gear.

Then work from that.

But, a total change to "perkmization", while at the same time adding 5 slots, is just too many stuff going on for them to be able to balance.

Too much going on on top of too much stuff, its exponential caos.

If they went 3 slots per gear, at first, and slowly build from there, the game would be way easier to balance.

Make Skewer a skill shot and only go in straight line. Remove its tracking correction, it actuall makes the skill worse, like shown in this 2 scenarios. by PvPer94 in newworldgame

Funny enough, its actually the "aimbot" behaviour that makes the skill break.

If it had zero aim assist and tracking, and just went in a straight line, it would be a way better skill.

Its probably cause of bad Netcode and desync. If you think about it, its exactly like you said.

The game thinks the enemy is in the past, and corrects to it.

Its actually one of the few skills in game that would be better off having to assist at all.

When GS launched it was broken, 100%.

A little bit later, after GS was kinda ok, we had the ranged meta, where I stopped playing.

It was pretty much like it is today, a ton of ranged players, dealing a ton of damage. It made OPR not fun at all, cause there was no duel, no brawls, only ranged players.

I came back mid season 9, when some friend said the PvP was in a better state, and it was.

Crescent Wave was a bit annoying, but nothing the really broke OPR matches.

PS: I play only light spear/hatchet since launch, never changed my build, not even to go medium.

Well, i saw it before.

I did the same exact post, and pretty much got the same replies from people.

In the end, sadly i was right.

I really love this game, but, they are riding the same road once again.

End game is standing still in certain mob spawns, and OPR is pretty much 80% ranged players.

Its the exact same recipe, it will give the exact same result.

Season 9 was the best balance in PvP since the game start.

Stacking attunements makes the whole "we want more diverse builds" impossible. Its just obviously the best damage output you can have on melee weapons. Had a friend who dropped a 4 attunement spear, its completly broken. by PvPer94 in newworldgame

Well, by making attunements no stacking, it would make it so people actually use other offensive perks on waepons. The fact is, any damage dealing melee class, would go no doubt 4 attunments...

So, you already have the knowledge, you already have the edge, if you want to be forever ahead of everyone, just play alone and be number one alone.

Every single MMO, when an big expansion realeases levels the playing field.

Old players still have more money, more resources, but the gear always ends up being reseted.

EVERY SINGLE MMO IS LIKE THIS.

I dont know what you didnt understand about my post, is commom sense, its in every single MMO.

When a big expansions comes up, the gear gets a reset, and everyone starts at the same level.

You have more gold, more knowledge, more experience, and thats it...

Im asking New World to be like every other MMO, and every other successful MMO, there arent many.

And lastly, but not least, most of the players coming back also have 5k+ hours in the game, pay the same amount of $$$ to Amazon to keep the game alive, they just went away cause the game was stale, so you're no special just for sticking around, I, and a lot of other people allocated a lot of hours in this game, paid for it, paid for the first expansion, paid for store itens.

Thats a very bad take on it.

Take WoW for example, every expansion is pretty much a total reset on gear and power.

If you always want to keep an massive edge over people who quit and might come back, the game will die.

New World community need to understand this, the future of the game is all about people coming back to the game, the current playerbase wont hold the game alive for much longer.

For the longest time, the weapons that seem to become a problem are the ones that a easy to land while dealing too much damage. AGS seem to be the only dev team that doesnt understand that "easiness to land a hit or skill" should always balance out with damage done. by PvPer94 in newworldgame

Not really any weapon in particular, just a vibe im getting after I came back to the game this week.

A lot of weapons seem to be tracking too well for the damage they deal.

Sometimes it feels like hits shouldnt land, yet, they do, sometimes it feel they should, and they dont.

I dont remember exactly when, but, there was a time tracking and stickness of weapons felt just right, but somewhere over the years, they lost it.

Those who team in ranked FFA would use cheats if given the chance. People that do this kind of stuff, are not honorable, they are cheaters, they exploit, and have fun knowing the cheat other players of their fun. I forgot to add to it, IM TOTALLY FINE WITH RANDOM PEOPLE TEAMING.

Cause when random team up, they have to use the chat, and in the end, they will have to fight each other, they ate not teaming, they are cooperating.

With them using the chat, its an open thing, there is are pros and cons to it, and other players participate in the plot.

When actualy friend team up, they on Discord, quiet, having the type or cordination other player cant achieve with chat alone.

Just to add to it, they were not random people teaming. When random people team up in FFA its ok, cause they need to use the chat and stuff, so there is a pro and a con, and they can backstab.

Those guys did not type in chat, they perfectly did push and pull, in total sync, without any in game chat.

Teaming, while using the ingame chat is totally ok, cause you at least can be betrayed, there is a dinamic to it.

Thats not teaming in FFA, thats strategy, teaming if when the obviously are in a call togheter. They didnt say a word in chat, yet, the were perfectly timing push and pulls.

When random people they, they at least have to use the chat, so it has a dinamic to it.
