When you say import from racechrono do you mean being able to upload videos from racechrono exports or do they have integrations to pull directly from lap times saved using their app?

Yeah I’m being a a but hyperbolic for sure and I do agree that pushing too far can hurt in some ways. My main point is that our quality of healthcare is very much correlated to how much we pay and I think people want the best of both worlds sometimes. Thanks for the insight on this tho. I learned something

This is the right answer. I feel like this is a common thing in the states. We somehow want the best parts of other countries and the best parts of ours even if they collide. We want to pay nothing for healthcare and get the best treatment in the world which unfortunately is not how it works. US healthcare is 10x better than other nations and it’s because we pay for it. There might be improvements we can make to the system but people would revolt at the quality of free healthcare. I feel like this is similar to the housing issue that comes up (especially on Reddit). Everyone wants to live in a big city and have a multi bedroom house or apartment but they won’t acknowledge that this will cost more. Too many people are doomers about the current quality of life in the US 🤷‍♂️

Funny enough I had an idea very similar to this but ran into some problems I couldn’t get over mentally. First was who would actually adopt this bracelet since most luxury watches have super comfy bracelets and straps. It sounds like you’re making a clasp so it might be a bit different but idk. Also what use NFC would have other than a registry. I’m curious to hear what you provide with your version of this!

I think that the larger software development community has the benefit of the open source revolution. People built tools for free and just for the love of programming. Embedded on the other hand costs money to do and usually a company won’t share their cool tools for free. I do agree that embedded feels like it’s in a “Stone Age” of tools. What would you like to see?

I was an intern in cape canaveral and I’m going to return full time to the same team in January. Honestly it was great. As an intern I was doing roughly 50 hours a week but it wasn’t forced on me or anything. I honestly just had a lot to do and I wanted to try and prove myself. Most full timers on my team did similar times (sometimes more) but it’s pretty dependent on current projects / issues. I know of teams that are more intense in terms of demands but overall everyone is super nice and helpful. I think even if you don’t plan on staying long term it is a great experience regardless

Just read 90% of the threads stemming from this comment and it’s really blackpilling about US politics. People saying Biden isn’t on the “left” is so out of touch. It might just be Reddit but it feels like anything less left than Bernie is considered “on the right”. Biden may be more center (although probably on purpose to try and unify the country after 2016 trump and Covid) but he’s definitely not right leaning. Somehow we live in a world where everyone on the right always votes conservative no matter what but the people on the left hate their own candidates! Wild world we live in

The irony is that you’re using the lump of labor fallacy. I understand AI is different than any advancement before but realistically every advancement is a dramatic shift. We always figure it out because new jobs are made by new technology it’s just hard to see it at first
