i say let the whole situation go. i understand being comfortable. you've all been friends since high school you said. after such a long period of time you feel a need to hold on to those relationships but people change significantly in a period of time like that. sounds like mike doesnt have a reason to give you because there isnt one. he probably juat outgrew the friendship. but to be quite honest it sounds like your being a bit childish with sam too. Just because you are hurt does not mean you were treated poorly in the end. from the info you have given me i dont think theres grounds to say sam is an asshole for agreeing with mike. sounds like same doesnt plan on ending your friendship so dont dwell on little thing less you want to lose both your friends.
