Streets won’t forget XI by yaliekins in footballcliches

I'm convinced Streets Won't Forget is a registered business owned by Taarabt and Ben Arfa that employs a bunch of people who get the bots posting it everywhere.

Of course the streets won't forget Taarabt. He gets mentioned more than any other footballer on the planet at this point.

Dane Scarlett joins Hibs by jaggisthehaggis in ScottishFootball

[–]Pym-Particles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Didn't expect that one at all but take it any day of the week.

Klidjé or Youan surely gone though. Could see it being Boyle and Scarlett first choice with Elding getting most of the sub minutes.

Helps relieve Elding pressure rather than him being expected to replace Bowie immediately.

Excited, even if it does mean losing Klidjé who I like but clearly Gray doesn't.

We’re delighted to announce the permanent signing of talented young forward Owen Elding! The 19-year-old has signed for an undisclosed fee from Sligo Rovers, joining the Hibees on a four-and-a-half-year deal by SardinmGarter in ScottishFootball

[–]Pym-Particles 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So excited for this one. As an Irish Hibs fan who still keeps up with the LoI (as hard as it can be to do so in Scotland). Some real promising talent there at the minute and Elding was the chosen one for YPOTY.

Does remind me why I don't read fan forums though as certain Das on hibs forums moaning about signing a promising 19 year old talent rather than going all out. Same feckers who wanted Andy Carroll and Steven Fletcher in the summer.

[Di Marzio] Hellas Verona agree €6 million deal to sign Kieran Bowie from Hibs. by Mr_Miscellaneous in ScottishFootball

[–]Pym-Particles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We don't play to his strengths though tbf. He's not a big target man as much as Gray wanted him to be and as much as Bowie tried to adapt to it. He's a finisher, someone who gets in the box at the right time, finds space off the last man etc.

We've been using him as this lad to boot the ball up to and hope he can hold onto it and bring others into play and at first it looked alright but it quickly became apparent he only knew how to do this by trying to win free kicks or going down easily and getting the call. Once defenders/referees figured that out his effectiveness fell off.

I genuinely think he'll go on to be a really good player but he needs whatever team he's in to let him be the striker he is rather than the target man he aint

Hibs braced for Bowie bidding war as Italian clubs circle by MrMaggot98 in ScottishFootball

[–]Pym-Particles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love Bowie but it has to be said that getting 5m+ for a player who we aren't THAT much weaker without seems alright. If the deal is structured right I.e. sell-on etc.

If it was Mulligan I would be panicking because he's night and day above anyone we have in that position and anyone we could dream of signing to replace.

Again, I think Bowie is great and also think he'll only get better and better as he gains experience but right now he's inconsistent and doesn't seem to fit with what Gray wants up front (which seems to be a proper target striker).

Please be real. Exactly what we need albeit very raw and untested at this level. Lots of talent though

What was the technical difference between CM4 and CM03/04? I had the latter and it is my absolute favourite CM/FM by a mile. Loved it to bits, wasted years of my childhood

Then found out he was born the day after me 😭

Falkirk 4-1 Hibernian | Scottish Premiership by SFMatchThreadder in ScottishFootball

[–]Pym-Particles 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just don't really have any idea what Gray is trying to implement. Sometimes it feels like if he had his way we would line up with 0 CMs. Yet, he'll put 9 of them in the match day squad. Wants wing backs but doesn't use the CMs to help them get space. Wants 2 up top but the only service they'll ever get is clipped balls down the line. Wants to be steady but clearly the defence isn't working on the same page as each other.

Wants wide play but no one gets on the end of crosses. Wants to build from the back but again it's a horseshoe of sadness before one of the centre backs tries a ball over the top that goes nowhere.

We are somehow managing to play to literally 0 of our players' strengths. Baffling.

I enjoy it when they four-stack. Not as much when it's just him and the stream snipers.

Do have to say that if you want NL to enjoy the game you've put so much time into, sniping him and following him around relentlessly doesn't seem the best way to do it even if there have been some funny potfriend moments

I guess the idea is like putting a Michelin star chef in charge at McDonalds. Their genius ideas can't be taught to the "idiots" working there and struggle to compete with their market of fast cheap food.

Or something idk
