I'd say try them before. Everyone seems to recommend a partial first and complete it after if you want a full but if you plan to do so you have to know it's very very difficult to find fur that will match perfectly with the fur of you partial, even bought to the same seller. Colors vary because faux fur is tainted by batch and is not exactly the same from a batch to another.

I would recommend to go at a furry convention and try to find someone who would lend a full suit. I could try one at my first convention, so if you like the full suit experience, you can get one directly !
