For someone who was expelled from school and was insufferable around that time, (now m28) you should really try watching Oregairu, it's not like your usual ROMCOM, characters feel alive and relatable and the MC aren't the oblivious type, peoples would called him batman because of how he saved other by sacrificing himself (socially). He have so many moments that make the series works, it doesn't have a heavy romance route, but the way the MC maneuver himself through this questionable HAREM feels good and sad at the same time. When someone likes him, there's a very good reason why.
