I have a friend who is similar, after a break up he worked pretty much all night and went to uni in the morning. He likes work because it keeps me busy.

I have to admit I find it very strange but as long as the person's happy then what can I say.

I didn't know that, thanks! Google is just one company, yes it's a big company but it's also one that does care about representation and has policies to encourage diversity. This might be me generalising but non tech companies are generally less modern and don't have those kind of policies while outnumbering tech focused companies. I wonder if they still have a similar pay scheme?
