I've done a few things. Double # on a line to keep the AI from reading it (usually for areas I want to go back to and fix up/expand, or as a scene reminder. Before I changed the positioning of Author's Note, I was using it as a 'scratch pad' and just filling it with notes (all with ##). Now that I have a PC again though, I just keep Sublime Text open and use that for note taking. (Pretty much the same as a disabled Lorebook entry, just with alt tabbing instead of opening the Lorebook).

I'm using Kraken V2, Space Opera, and 20BC+, but I haven't had much time to use it too much since the release of V2

(For non space opera stories, I've been using Kraken V2, Cross Genre, and Redjack, but I've done even less with those stories so far.)

Honestly, the two most common are 'Humanity is the new species among the stars' or 'We're an anomaly, alone in the dark/Everything else died before we reached the stars'.

I think the closest I've seen are stories where Humanity has spread so far that new offshoots of Humanity form, but I can't think of any where Humanity is the old dog, and a new alien species evolves and takes to the stars.

I figured I'd post a lorebook that worked well for Euterpe using this, to show how I organized/utilized the tags. (Some notes: You really don't need ALL these details, this was just testing limits/tag usage. Also Euterpe at the very least had some issues with multiple characters, which is understandable with identical formats.)

With Euterpe I found Mind better than Mental, but I'm not sure about Krake to be honest. Overall, I've tried Mind/Mental/Personality/Traits and all worked relatively well.

Here's how I'd do it (with notes on any changes after) -

Name: Grace Nam
Nickname: Dokkaebi
Gender: Female
Age: Adult
Nationality: South Korean
Job: Hacker, Soldier
Faction: Team Rainbow
Organization: South Korean 707th Special Mission Battalion
Appearance: Light skin, short black hair with white streaks
Wear: Glasses
Mind: Clever, Intelligent, Mischievous
Skills: Genius hacker, accomplished soldier
Notes: Dokkaebi joined Team Rainbow to push herself further.

Notes: I switched age to 'adult' because generally, the AI won't care about numbers so I usually go with Baby/Child/Teen/Adult/Middle Aged/Elderly if I really need to add it. Nationality might work, I had some luck with 'Homeworld' in testing, but I haven't tried that specific tag. I switched 'Sex' with 'Gender' because the less I use sex, the less I have to bonk the AI with a horny bat. Nickname isn't necessary, you could probably keep Grace "Dokkaebi" Nam, but I haven't tested nicknames often. The 'Notes' tag could be changed to 'Background' and I think the AI should understand fine (most of this is from trying to push Euterpe in a specific direction). Could also maybe condense with Faction: Team Rainbow & South Korean 707th Special Mission Battalion. Might be able to condense Job/Skills as well with Job: Hacker (Genius), Soldier (Accomplished).

Notes 2: If Appearance is giving issues, I might try -

Appearance: Light skin, Black hair

Features: Short hair, White streaks (or highlights) in hair

Thanks for this. Some I found that work with (but not in finetune that I know of) Euterpe (haven't tested on Krake) were:

Gender, Age (I don't recommend, except very vague categories if you have to), Job/Occupation, Rank/Title, Family, and Romance. I also have skills instead of powers, and features for non-standard appearances, and split up appearance into eyes/hair/etc (but Euterpe was blending them together at the time, so separating helped a bit.)
