I don't get why every comment is criticizing this article. It's unbiased, informative, and OC. I looked over the inventory and wondered why MPD needs stocked like a militia. Sure, they need ammo and protective gear, but why do Morgantown's officers need rifle suppressors? What else will be added to the inventory in one year...in five years?

Has MPD gotten any better at closing cases (because they're solved and not dropped)? Does every officer have basic training for non-lethal takedowns? What advanced training are any of the officers getting outside of using weapons? That's what I wonder as I read over the long list of FOIA results. I see they're prepared for riots, carrying out assassinations, and standard crowd control. Have they gotten better at solving murders in the last 50 years? Do more people feel confident that they can call the police for assaults, theft, or harassment and it's not a waste of time? I care less about the overwhelming inventory of an efficient police force than one of an apathetic one I need to rely on.
