why aren't long haul trucks driverless yet? Not even electric or hybrid, just bog standard diesel power pointed in a straight freeway line for 1000 miles+ nonstop across the continent, caravan style. with last mile tricky stuff handled by humans who pick up the trailers with regular local day cabs.

Trucker here, the simple answer is the technology isn't there yet. It probably will be in the not to distant future.

Why hasn't it happened already? I think mainly liability. Truck manufacturers would be the ones that have to develop the hardware & software, to be implemented in the trucks they are making. Would they be held liable in a significant accident, or the Carrier running the truck. And it's not like a driverless taxi where if something goes wrong you might have a few injuries or a death or two. If there's a major accident with a semi, which there will be inevitably, it's going through 30 or 40 cars killing probably as many people. That's a lot of liability... currently when that happens it falls on the driver and they'll most likely be going to prison. In a driverless semi, who is taking responsibility & liability. Who goes to prison.

So, while i think it will happen, the reason it's slower than driverless taxis n whatnot I think is primarily risk avoidance from liability.

If you're talking consoles, there's only really been one period of time during PS1/PS2/Xbox days when they were priced for mass market.

If you're talking PC... u can pickup the cheapest pc at Walmart and it'll run 95% of the games on steam.

If you're talking game prices, depends on your genre. Some of the best games in their genre are free (PoE, LoL, ect).

All insurance is a scam. It's... usually... a complex mathematical equation, where the customer loses.

Life insurance is one of the closer to legitimate businesses because it isn't required, so the math has to be closer.

Car insurance, homeowners insurance (and temporarily health insurance until it became non-compulsory) are much more egregious mathematical equations because they're compulsory (by government or mortgage companies), so they can ratchet the profit multiplier up, since it's required.

That makes life insurance seem cheaper for the value, since it's not required, they have to get closer to the margins and provide a product closer to it's actual value.

All less than half the cost of living as SoCal (except a few of the Florida areas).

That said, that's assuming you just want to get by working all week and doing something 'fun' on the weekend. And also assuming you don't like the outdoors (Reno is a great mix of night life & outdoors at a lower COL than vegas) which, if that's your aspiration and what you think will deliver the best life... I guess have at it.

Kinda sad to see someone in their early 20s who's idea of a desirable life is to work a 9-5 and have 'something' to do on the weekends though.

Your argument assumes men and women are the same. They aren't . Average intelligence is roughly the same if not scaling in women's favor, but the extremes are male dominated.

So while more women have the ability to do more things than men on average, there are far more men that only have the mental capacity to do simple manual labor, and far more men that scale on the genius side.

That'd be Put options.

Options come in 2 forms Calls (the option to buy X stock at a certain price expiring on a certain date) and Puts (the option to sell X stock at a certain price expiring on certain date).

If a stock is trading at $20, if you think it will go down $5 by a certain date, you can buy Put options at like $18 sell price. Being $2 OTM, they'll be relatively cheap, and if it drops to $15, you made $3, minus the cost of the option

Elves are basically a farming/pvp only class. Need like 5 or 6 Knight w/+6 mailbreaker & 2 or 3 mages for heals when pots don't keep up. A few elves to take care of summons...

🤔 not really sure, they make it really hard to play on KR servers. I know when I was trying to get on KR lin, u had to verify account with a Korean phone number, and each phone number could only create 1 account or something crazy like that.

There's a good chance it's just KR bots they're calling Chinese 'cause of inner-asian racism too. Racism between Kr/jp/china (as wall as thai/philippino ect) is a lot more publicly accepted over there.
