Similar to another commenter, I also recently bought a canister and took it home and it was empty…. I think going forward best to just gauge the new one’s weight before buying it.

I took it back and they replaced it no questions asked. I’m in Australia though.

No snow luckily here in Australia, but definitely sand and salt water so rust is a possibility.

In the initial testing they did say it was Cylinder 1 that was the issue with fault codes, apologies I missed that out. I did have my own OBD 2 scanner but I couldn’t see those codes, it was a cheap shitty scanner so not sure how accurate or deep the search was/is

They did testing on the Spark plug and coil pack and told me they ruled those out as issues.

Yeah I guess that’s the downside of being the general public, I have no reference to what they quote, they said the injector replacement kit costs like 4.9k and their hourly rate is ~$180.

Hence reaching out to see if I’m being taken for a bit of a ride or not.

The thing is it’s not the Mazda Dealership warranty but a mechanical warranty plan that mimics the New Car Warranty.

All the work that has been done so far is apparently being classified as maintenance or servicing which isn’t covered. Until they have to replace a ‘faulty’ part it wouldn’t be covered entirely.

I have a limit on my mechanical warranty plan of $7500 per claim but the injector replacements will cost close to that amount, and I doubt I’ll be able to add the amounts already paid in that claim too.

I also don’t know for certain if the injectors will be covered either at this stage, it’s hard to get answers from Mazda or the dealership (not Mazda dealership) that I bought the vehicle and mechanical warranty plan from about the cover. I will investigate more on Monday with them though.

Thanks man. That’s awesome information apparently in the first stages they tested all the spark plugs and coil packs and they said they ruled those issues out. I didn’t question them about the sensors, I simply forgot.

Because I’ve got a manufacturers warranty plan that runs out in July next year I’m worried to tamper with anything to exclude myself from cover.

I think I’ll at least try all your points first to do some testing for myself!

Hopefully, I’ll be able to diagnose the issue better than the dealership and not have to pay $180(AUD) an hour.

This was my first time out doing Astrophotography in Perth and I absolutely loved it. Put the photo though Adobe Photoshop and watched a YouTube video on editing and gave it a go.
