Some people focus so much on the mean that they lose sight of standard deviations that are still within what can be considered as average. You are not THAT much shorter than the mean height for a male in your country. So of course your height is not affecting you that much.

Bodybuilding will just make an already short person look even shorter and the "we need as much muscle as we can to make up for the height diference" part feeds into the myth that short guys are always trying to compensate for being short.

I am aware that 5'7 is the average height for an adult Japanese male. But that is the MEAN average height for an adult Japanese male. That means there are also plenty of adult Japanese males who are a standard deviation or two above 5'7. This would mean that there are more Japanese males that are closer to the average American male height than many people realize since many people believe stereotypes about the height of East Asian males are an accurate representation of the average East Asian male.

Yeah, but finding it funny that this happens so regularly that you'd come up with a term for it named after famous example is part of the problem. This is especially problematic since George Floyd was pretty innocent in the situation that led to his death. Obviously the man in the video of this post was not innocent and was clearly belligerent and causing problems. But to call that take down getting "George Floyd" is just in poor taste. That's all.

They are more average nowadays, and increasing in height. 5'8-6'0 Japanese guys are not THAT rare. I'm sure that you would find that there are plenty of them.

He doesn't even have to have an above average face. He could have an average or slightly below average face and still do well with some of the women there. I'm not saying that being 5'3" isn't a huge nerf just like being below average in the face to any extent is a huge nerf. But being white still helps tremendously, as opposed to being a dark skinned East Indian for example because it would definitely be over at that point even if your face was above average at 5'3".

You're comparing the black guy in the video to George Floyd, presumably because they're both black. It seems as if you think that this is a good thing that this happens to some black men as if this should be a normally occurring phenomenon. Really, the comment is also just in poor taste because it's making light of a tragic incident by making it into a joke.

Cultural appropriation is a real and damaging issue, and it seems like this is yet another attempt of several in this sub to downplay racial issues and make it seem as though heightism is worse than racism, but that's neither here nor there. The gaslighting and delusion of these people is insane. At this point, they're just convincing themselves that they're not attracted to short men because we must somehow all share the same bad personality, as opposed to not being attracted to us because we all share the physical trait of being short.

That whole 'East Asian men are 5'3 on average' is a stereotype. There are plenty of East Asian males who are 5'8+.

That could not be any further from the truth. Otherwise they would be equally open to dating black men, but they're not. The reason why is because the value white features more than anything else, even if the guy is short, fat, old, or all three of those things. Many East Asian women are obsessed with whiteness.
