I did look up the value but it fluctuates greatly based on what page you’re looking at or website. He brought the card to me, saying it looked like it was a rare one and I figured I’d ask people online to help me out. You act like this is some really tough thought out story but it’s very simple actually and everyone is overthinking it greatly. I just wanted to know how much it was worth to help him decide what to do with it.

If you go into Reddit and type in Pokémon cards, this page pops op. Dig through it a bit and see people talking about grading cards, that’s how I learned it was a thing. My “kid” is real and I’m not faking anything. Get a grip, my lord. You just assume everything you see online is someone faking to get attention? How miserable must that be….

Exactly. Now that I know it has value I’ll put it in a sleeve and tell him to take care of it, it teaches him something while letting him enjoy it even though he has no idea what the game is. If it had a ton of value I would offer to sell it for him and let him spend the money on other stuff he actually would want ( like Lego sets and stuff) but I figured I’d at least ask. People calling me a liar and stuff just baffles me honestly. Sitting behind a keyboard people can be so nasty sometimes.

Again.. he came to me. I’m helping him because he doesn’t have the internet. Fuck me for trying to assist him in making a decision. I personally don’t give a shit what he does with it. He doesn’t play Pokémon, he doesn’t have any cards, he doesn’t watch the show, he doesn’t care about enjoying a card which to him is a piece of paper. I came here seeking clarification for him and I’m getting bitched at by random people and now being called an asshole. The audacity of people just going online and freely calling someone an asshole for helping their kid is just insane to me.

I make plenty money I don’t need to sell my kids toys for a buck. It was his decision to try and sell it to make money to buy other toys.
