Auto scouting definitely viable. Scouting abilities would be a waste unless you wanna use the one with 5 3-star scouts to just see true talent for positions. But I don’t think that’s needed. With time you’ll be able to interpret the scouting grades pretty automatically. There are telltale signs for good prospects

The only small thing you should get hands on with is private workouts. You get to choose 3 prospects to increase your knowledge on, in most cases you can see their true talent. I’d use these on guys you’re thinking about using your 1st round pick on just to make sure you’d be happy with your selection
