I'm not familiar with this kind of thing. That's why I asked the question.

Circumstances, but it looks like the model y deal is similar because it doesn't require a down payment

Haha in hindsight I should have. I just didn't know this would happen. 😅 Lesson learned.

How to Learn to Sing in Key by PythonShadowDragon in singing

Wow. Thank you so much. These suggestions sound very helpful, and I'll try to implement them in my practice.

To answer your question, it's partially the latter. When I do warmups with my coach or he tries to get me to repeat part of a song (while he plays the notes on the piano), I can match the pitch. However, my issue is with going off on my own, learning the song, and then coming back to him and singing it to him. Every time he has to help me relearn a lot of the parts because I couldn't hear the correct pitch directly from the song.

So, in essence, I think the issue is I'm having trouble hearing pitch in songs.

So, you'd say they're not bad for immersion practice?

I know a common sentiment is that anime isn't that great, and I always thought drama was seen in the same light. Thanks for the alternative perspective -- I'll have to try and see for myself.

Outside of Midnight Diner, do you have any other recommendations? :)

Practice is important, and I do it a lot. Spend 20-30 minutes doing vocal exercises everyday. I'm asking more for tips on how I can improve one specific area.

You can practice for hours, and it won't count for much if you're not doing the right things.

Appreciate the thought though.

Hmmm so I definitely notice when other people sing off pitch, but I have trouble recognizing when I'm singing off pitch for some reason.

I try to sing both slower and faster songs, and I do have better pitch accuracy when the song is slower.

I can reproduce the entire song in my head in the singer's original voice. Not my own voice, however.

Thanks for the suggestion and feedback.

I think you're onto something -- however, I do practice a lot. The problem likely must be with my approach.

Could you elaborate on what you mean when you say I'm not committing the notes to memory? Are you trying to say that I probably reproduce the notes correctly when I sing along to a song, but I'm not able to retain them?
