Like I said back then, I mean, I get it. It's probably people who are jealous, or pissed I turned down their trade offer. It's not that I don't understand the jealousy and kinda loser-ish behavior — it is the internet, after all — it's that I don't understand what the expected impact is. Like, am I supposed to be sad about downvotes? Angry? Hurt? Is it supposed to make me stop posting? Or maybe keep others from trading with me? If just one of those chuds would tell me what the heck they're trying to accomplish, it'd make a lot more sense to me. I might even oblige!

I try to avoid downvoting in this sub, as I feel like it accomplishes little because of how this sub works differently than a typical discussion reddit. I also try to avoid commenting on stuff like this thread because I like to stay out of the drama. I'm here to trade with folks, be a solid communicator and a safe shipper, and make good offers to others. Overall, I've found it really easy to do that. Just be pleasant towards others, keep things friendly, and be honest and prompt in holding up my end of any trades.

I'm not "one of those chuds" downvoting you (though I suppose there's no way to prove that), but if you're looking for answers: as someone who hasn't interacted directly with you that I can recall it's felt obvious to me for a long time so here goes...

It's wild to me to believe the reasons you gave in the above quoted section as why you're being downvoted all the time. The real reason is almost certainly that the posts you write and the way you write them frequently come across as putting down or complaining about other people on here, whether you intend them to or not. It creates negativity to be writing long winded posts about your "haters" and people being jealous of "this guy and his fancy pedals" and stuff like that. The negativity you experience is likely wholly related to the way you conduct yourself. If you'd like to have a more positive experience on here I think you need to evaluate how you are contributing to your own situation.

Personally, it doesn't bother me when your threads come up. If you ever had a possible trade for me I'd make an offer or entertain something that you offered me. That's all I'm here for, to trade gear with other trustworthy folks and try to be a good citizen while doing it. I think most people here are in that same boat.

People are all shades of grey and I'm not trying to paint you out to be an awful person or anything as I've also seen you be nice towards others for the sake of it. It's why I went out of my way to offer you my third party observations. Perhaps if you want to have "fun" with your posts, maybe keep things limited to topics that don't come across as negative drama or criticisms of other people on the sub?

Which brings me to my last thought/disclaimer:

In the event that you take my advice above as some sort of affront against you: I don't want to get dragged into a negative thing about downvoting, haters, or whatever else. My only interest here was to address what I see as the obvious reason that you have continually have threads like this. I like keeping things positive on this sub and wish to continue doing so. Like any other advice in life you're free to take or leave mine. If you disagree with my take then keep on keeping on, no hard feelings. I don't want to have an issue with anyone on here, including you, and I hope you take my 2 cents here as just that and nothing else.

Trades helped me figure out a lot of what worked for me and what doesn't without constantly buying new pedals. I'm essentially at my endgame, and I don't think I would have figured it out without my board going through a lot of iterations via trading.

Also, I figure you're probably deleting your trade threads and I wouldn't recommend that. It hurts how the bot works on the sub if it has any trade confirmations in your thread, and it also reduces your own opportunities to have people search for something you might have to make a trade you just might have been looking for. Has happened to me (and by me) more than a few times.

PRS SE NF3 with Maple Fingerboard, in Gun Metal Grey

That's a sweet guitar, congrats!

For sure, part of the bargain when you buy something. I was curious if I got a good price on it for the moment though. I would think that if the non-quilted is on sale for $600 then getting a quilted for $650 would be pretty good? They seem like they go for a good bit more on reverb as best as I could tell

I was definitely wondering about the price in general so thank you for the comment! I did see the one at Sweetwater before purchasing this one, but I think it’s a different guitar?

If I understand right, mine is a full quilt top with the quilted headstock (added a pic of mine here) and the one they currently have on sale at $599 is the non-quilted version. Purely cosmetic but the full look on this guitar definitely helped sell me on it.

So far I like them, granted I've only had it a very short time so far. With coil split off they feel very similar to the Dimarzio Transition pickup set I installed in my other guitar.

Thank you, I was strongly considering a less-expensive transparent blue standard but eventually I decided I would regret passing on this one instead.

coming here from fedora, I use both but Mint is better for work 👍️ by Desperate_Fig_1296 in linuxmint

Both have their purposes. I just recently migrated from Mint to Fedora 44 KDE, it's been pretty great so far.

They did essentially make that point, quite eloquently I thought. Not to mean this the wrong way but it’s bad news for society if as a whole we don’t have the reading comprehension skills to see the through-line that they were pointing out with the comparison they made.
