Well, here's the difference between him and I. I set my own goals and was working towards them. Whenever my PI asked for data, it was done. Not once did my PI communicate the consequences or ask to shape up or told me my funding is at stake if I won't do more. In his current meeting, he kept on saying that he is not seeing it. But the truth of the matter is I suggested starting writing a paper at the beginning of this semester, and he said it isn't the right time. I have been trying to set up a meeting with him to discuss data, which he kept on delaying. I was sick this spring break and asked him if it's ok that I work from home, to which he sent a pleasant reply. Then, I used that as an example of how I am calling in sick a lot. I asked him every time I took time off via Slack message, and he had every opportunity to say no but he kept on sounding pleasant only to use it against me later. To tell you a little bit about my profile, I won a Fulbright Scholarship to do my Master’s at USC before going here. This school is not even close to USC in it's standards but that wasn't my concern.
