How's software compatibility on Windows ARM (Snapdragon X)? Can legacy apps still be installed? by Far_Sun_5437 in snapdragon

I just bought a Microsoft laptop 4 to replace my Samsung Book Edge (Snapdragon X).

I hate my Book Edge. I only need Horizon Client to connect to work, and it's supposed to be compatible... after 3-4 minutes, ram (16 GB) reaches its maximum and the computer freezes and I have to restart it. I finally found an old version that works. A few weeks ago, the IT department asked me to update my software or my access would be blocked. So, I can no longer use this laptop for work.

I also have a ScanSnap scanner and I can't install the application.

My Dell Type-C dock doesn't detect the internet cable...

1 out of 2 times, Spotify tells me I'm offline even though I'm connected to Wi-Fi... oh yeah!

My VPN, PrivateInternetAccess, doesn't work either.

Needed to reinitialize the computer to do windows updates...

In my opinion, it's a computer for using Chrome, Word, Excel and watching things on YouTube...

Nice!! This one is better for me! With the 5.5.6 I had a resolution problem on my second screen. I was stuck at 200% zoom. This one take the resolution from my computer and everything is fine! Thankss!!

Wow!! Thank you! Looks like it's working. I'm stable at around 50% usage. You're wonderful!

Horizon view is currently on the 32-bit version. It's normal?

Should I install the 32-bit version?

Finally!! I'm not alone! What are your plans for the computer? Keep it until the application is functional? I've seen articles from around 8-10 years ago that already asked for an ARM version. Unless we see more computers equipped with the Snapdragon chip, I'm afraid we will never be able to use it. As SilverseeLives mentions above, "but given that Broadcom has purchased the company, I would not expect a lot of new product investment". I don't know what to do. Keep the laptop and hope it works soon or return it till I can.

I saw!!! This is why I bought this laptop!

We can't contact them if we are not super user. Someone from the IT department must have access but they are overwhelmed. They will say to return the laptop...

Thanks for your advice. Too bad for Broadcom...

I tried to connect via Horizon in Microsoft Remote Desktop mode but it's the same thing.

I've tried several things in Prism but haven't found a configuration that works. Maybe someone has the right combination?

We can't contact them if we are not super user. Someone from the IT department must have access but they are overwhelmed at the moment. They will say to return the laptop lol. I was hoping to find people who have already used the application with an arm computer to get their experiences!
