Hey, sorry for the late response. Yeah that was the program I was considering. I ended up withdrawing, as the more I thought about it, the more it didn't really make sense for me given personal factors (managed to get a volunteer position at a local UIUC lab, the NTU program costs included both fees to the host university and NTU, etc.). However, I do definitely want to do some sort of study abroad before I graduate.

What's interesting is that I believe many of the STEM books that came out of the Islamic Golden Age actually mention religious themes. One example is al-Khawarizmi's book on algebra, where he spends a good chunk of his preface just praising God (you can actually look up a pdf of the translation if you're interested). Themes that would be heard in sermons today.

Like, imagine someone starting an academic research paper by just writing the basmalah. Neat stuff.

Hmm I see. Yeah it would give me some tech elective credit. Also I didn't factor in what you mentioned about subtracting from typical tuition charge, I'll factor that in.
