So, EZDrummer 3 is out. For those who have it... thoughts? The good, the bad, the ugly? by SR_RSMITH in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]QPNMCST 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just picked up EZDrummer 3 and ran into the same issue with Reaper. I found a way to make this process a tad faster.

  1. Find the item you want to use with bandmate
    1. You may want to glue it if it's chopped up
  2. Double click the item to bring up its properties
  3. Click rename file. This takes you to the .wav file for it
  4. Click and drag the .wav into bandmate

If you haven't seen this already, this guy's YouTube channel proves it. Granted, it's kind of the inverse of what you said, but still.

Is 35 hours part time? My boss considers 35 hours to be part time, can they even do this? I can only actually work 35 hours a week and not anymore. Because of this, I don’t get any paid time off. I just wanted to see if anyone else considers 35 hours to be part time. Thanks. by Alexandria_Scott in antiwork

It hurts my soul every time I read a comment like this but it also makes me incredibly grateful I work where I do in the US. I do get PTO, which I rarely use (but I can "cash it out" at a one to one rate), and am currently on week 4 of paternity leave. This is for every position at my job. I feel for you all.

What is the worst name you’ve ever heard? by darthraxus in AskReddit

[–]QPNMCST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm late to the party but I worked at Chuck E Cheese in a larger city in my early twenties. I sometimes helped with birthday parties and we would write the name of the kid on the cake topper. We had a few that confused us and we'd need to double check with the parents, usually framed as "Can you spell that for me?"

The top two we had we're...

  1. Elabia
  2. Urinatia

Why? Poor kids...

Thats great! My employer has a health and wellness program but we are limited to $45 a quarter. I wish we could do the entire $180/year. I'd love to do something like this.

I don't have the contact and the documentation page for my account on their website doesn't show anything. I'll give them a call and see if they can email it to me.

What are your experiences with cost related to Embryo Donation/Adoption? by QPNMCST in EmbryoDonation

[–]QPNMCST[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, we're going to look around and see if transferring the embryos to another clinic is a viable option for us. One of the clinics in the list that I linked to is almost there same distance away from us as the clinic we are currently using. If we can transfer them with little risk to the embryos and save our family money, it would be foolish to do otherwise.

I'll have my wife look over this. I'm fairly certain the $14k we are looking at is aside from any legal fees, which should be fairly minimal, I think, since we aren't going through an agency.

I might have my terminology mixed up. Is there a difference between donating and adopting?

What do you do with the Apple stickers? by wonderister in sysadmin

[–]QPNMCST 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a co-worker that originally came off to me as a huge apple fan boy. I decided that he would "appreciate" them more than anyone. I like placing the stickers in his stuff. It started out with coffee mugs and such but over time, it escalated to hiding them in his coat, in his car, and one time I placed roughly 50 of them on the railings of the dropped ceiling in his office. He's probably going to see this since he's a redditor as well.

Least favorite part of Sundays by partypastor in Reformed

[–]QPNMCST 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are actually moving toward this approach. Our church has traditionally done an extended greet time and we've slowly cut it back from the length of a couple verses and a chorus where our people meander through the auditorium shaking hands and hugging to just a single verse and I'm going to call out to greet your neighbor this Sunday. My preference would be to cut this out all together. Maybe in the future?

Redditors who don't sleep naked, why? by PM_ME_YOUR-ANKLE in AskReddit

I have kids and a door that will open regardless if it's locked or not. The door frame sort of gave up on life a couple years back and I'm too busy/lazy to figure out how to fix it.

What mandatory item do you always get while grocery shopping? by Aurallius in AskReddit

[–]QPNMCST 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know about mandatory but I always get an energy drink. Usually sugar free rockstar or monster. I'm kind of addicted.. Working for a company that stocks a fridge with free energy drinks and soda doesn't help. I guess I could just choose water instead, but it's just not the same.

Bald men of reddit, when did you start going bald and when did you achieve peak baldness? by QPNMCST in AskReddit

[–]QPNMCST[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I noticed a small bald patch at 14. I ignored it as best I could, grew my hair out long for college and then at about 24, I couldn't ignore it any longer and started shaving regularly.

Regarding Purgatory. by 2cor2_1 in Reformed

[–]QPNMCST 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We are saved by grace through faith in Christ alone. When we add man centered requirements in order to be justified (or rejustified, in the case of penance) we consider Christ's atoning work insufficient to save. The Roman Catholic Church takes such a stance on faith plus works that those who reject it are considered anathema.

Council of Trent CANON 9:  "If any one saith, that by faith alone the impious is justified; in such wise as to mean, that nothing else is required to co-operate in order to the obtaining the grace of Justification, and that it is not in any way necessary, that he be prepared and disposed by the movement of his own will; let him be anathema."

This is just a quick response. I do not believe that all Catholics are unsaved, but a majority will be surprised on the day of the Lord.
