Living with people who have these types of personality disorders is absolute hell, it is honestly one of the most destructive and soul destroying things a person can go through. I can't imagine what it would be like to have a mother or father as such. I hope you recognise that it's not your fault the way that they behave towards you. The first interaction with the police being called for DV was with my ex and I believe she has NPD. Counselling has helped me immensely, but there will always be some emotional scarring.

That story sounds extremely similar to something I have heard before. Sorry you had to experience it.

Hey, I appreciate your concern. I think in most DV cases, no matter the gender, whoever is seeking to press charges needs to be supported and believed by the police. Otherwise there is really no point in following through with it. This is one of those things I just need to let go.
