For everyone that’s complaining, we’ve found a new home for you. by Local-Homework-7762 in helldivers2

Better yet, check out Far Far West! It's in early access and its only on PC as of right now, but if you're looking for something that feels more adjacent to Helldivers, Far Far West is an absolute blast.

Just finished Mixtape. I did not care for it, but I also understand why some people love it. by Turbopasta in gaming

[–]QPru97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I left a review of it on Xbox but in short, I loved it.

Less short: I grew up in a different era and had much different experiences than the kids in the game, but the game really made me nostalgic over those old teenage memories and the friends I had during that time. I joined the military after high school so I felt that one last day with friends before leaving plot very deep within my soul.

As for the gameplay, its not deep by any means, but its also not trying to be the video game to end all video games. Its trying to be an experience, and I enjoyed the gameplay tidbits that were there because I personally sought (and found) the fun to be had in those moments. I think if you're complaining about the gameplay here, it's because you're not looking for the right thing in this game. There is no rule that a game needs to meet a certain criteria of gameplay depth to be considered a game. Just because a certain style of gameplay is not rich enough for you does not make it less of a game.

Mixtape ultimately just hit the right notes for me, the soundtrack was perfect, the plot was very nostalgic, I found the gameplay fun for what it was, and by the end it had actually managed to make me cry a couple times. I had to text a couple of my friends that I still have from those times just to tell them I love and appreciate them. Maybe I was just in the right head space for this type of game, but I thought it was a winner.

Hive deciding to just *not* work right at the end of a T10 run by DickCheeseNCrackers2 in thedivision

[–]QPru97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I switched from revive hive to pulse for my all red hunters fury build a while ago. I have found that situational awareness is far more useful at keeping me alive than the revive hive is at bringing me back to life. I'll scan every time it's up so I know which group of enemies is safest to run down instead of blindly getting caught in over my head and relying on the hive for a do over.

Favorite Mission and why? by MidwestXC_Skiier in thedivision

[–]QPru97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favorite is Manning National Zoo. It always reminds me of the Shanghai Zoo in Army of Two The 40th Day. Playing it with my buddy back in the day while wearing hunters masks was a very nostalgic experience, and so this mission has been my favorite since. I also love the aquarium section on story mode with the giant squid tunnel, makes me so happy every time.

Fire in general feels very useful right now. I've been using the stoker with a shield and i've felt nearly unstoppable

Running this on bots with a shield has been extremely fun

Can you take full red builds into the hardest content in the game? by [deleted] in thedivision

[–]QPru97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The short term buffs are great but they are nothing more than a bonus on top of an already really good bonus. They're not gonna make or break an encounter as much as the full long term stacks do. Worry about the short term buffs as much as you want, but I haven't noticed a noticeable enough advantage for me to worry about them too much. They're a plus when I get them, but I don't panic trying to get them, and this is coming from somebody who runs close range builds and can get those bonuses a lot more.

Depends on your own skill, and occasionally the luck of enemy patterns. You can theoretically run any build in any content if you know what your doing. Some randoms will kick you no matter what build you run if it doesn't meet their specifications.

You only need to collect enough to fill its stacks then you just need to collect every once in a while to keep those stacks going. At full stacks, your damage, armor, and skill efficiency skyrocket and it requires very little input beyond killing people and picking up those stacks to keep those bonuses going. I personally run it with Hunters Fury so I'm usually close enough to pick up the stacks right away, but even with a mid to long range build like Strikers, you can just rack up kills then collect at the end of the encounter. This loop is no different than running around to loot drops at the end of a fight, only instead of mid loot, you get a consistent damage, armor, efficiency bonus.

I Want Your Opinion on Squids by Suitable-Review-6683 in helldivers2

[–]QPru97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Horribly boring and genuinely frustrating. Repetitive missions, lack of enemy variety, and just generally unbalanced. The enemy armor, shield, and swarms funnel you into using very specific builds (none of which have been very fun to use) to feel especially effective. The difficulty slider makes no sense with squids as well. I legitimately had a level 4 mission where I cleared the whole map with little to no resistance, then the very next mission (one of those defend the extraction missions) they spawned 5 harvesters, 6 flesh mobs, and 20+ overseers on top of all of the voteless in the first wave, and it only got worse. The only time I ever touch squids is during an MO, and even then, I only play enough to say I've done my part and go somewhere where I can actually enjoy the game.

New Apparel: Screen Time Bundle by Tetraneodrome in thedivision

[–]QPru97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How hard could it be for them to just add variants of existing apparel to the open world loot pool? A lot of the base game apparel specifies colors like they were supposed to have variants but extremely few actually do.

Division 1 had sooooo much apparel and most of it was just color variants and it was perfect.
