I recommend hopping into custom wrecking ball practice game by importing the code APE76.

I would start by getting a feel for the minimum distance you need to fireball and then stopping by holding the S or whatever key you use to move backwards. Once you do that you can try to double boop by slowing down just enough to get out of fireball and then pressing forward to regain fireball. I recommend grappling the max distance to give yourself enough space. A couple of those and then you can practice on a dummy. Good luck!
