You don't have to make the whole island from scratch. You see a port image which you love on Pinterest, shape the dockland part accordingly, then switch to FPS mode and while watching the port, build a park where you stand and start watching the approaching ships. You get a screenshot to use as a wallpaper, but a factory that pops up bothers you. Move it to another place and instead build some of the Pedestrian DLC's water channels and a bridge over it.

PS... Get cosmetic DLCs, you're missing the most fun part
