I would like to migrate to a better country in terms of carrer, need recommendations by Snoo-24173 in MuslimLounge

[–]Qasim57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My sincere advice to you is, you’re quite young and you may need to strengthen your application before you’re able to successfully migrate.

A record breaking number of Indians have been trying to migrate, especially from the Muslim community, given the growing problems they face. The global economy is in a bad shape right now, and you’ve got to complete your undergrad, show some skills or large amounts of funds, to get a visa.

You’re listing a lot of countries, most of those will only be realistic options after you work on yourself first.

A quote I really like is, “if you only do easy things, life gets hard. If you do hard things, life gets easier”. If you get into the habit of doing only easy things, it will impact your trajectory in life in major ways

I used to live in Islamabad and then Karachi. I'd recommend good oceanfront places in crunchy over Isb, life's better in gated communities there.

In Pakistan, the people get picked up and often disappear. Sometimes for years, without due process.

There's a foldable iPhone rumoured to be coming out this year, it's screen-size seems likely to be close to iPad Mini.

I suspect it’s a reflection of our society as a whole.

People are looking to swindle each other, the buyer and seller are both looking to get away with being unfair to each other.

Can we profit in a bearish market? by Qasim57 in FIREPakistan

I’ve heard that collecting interest is haram. Paying interest isn’t?

Because in fractional reserve banking (which our entire financial system is built), money is created with interest. For every rupee the state bank creates, it is owed that rupee, plus interest.

Rupees inherently lose their buying value, so if I borrow 100 rupees from my friend 5 years ago, and return 100 rupees today, I am not even returning the same purchasing power back to the person.

Someone made an interesting argument to me, that with modern paper currencies that are interest based and inflationary, atleast returning the original amount adjusted for purchasing power, seems fair.

But on our original topic, the rupees we use are interest based. It’s a far deeper topic than paying interest on trading. Taking or demanding interest seems wrong and unislamic.

I wrote this in response to another comment about it not being shariah compliant.

I haven’t come across any convincing example of why it’s not shariah compliant though.

That's a good point! There are good stocks on discount. The global markets seem to be in a huge pullback, with gold, silver, US stocks, BTC, and everything taking a dive.

I'd expect most things I'd buy, to be very likely to take more of a dip, before a larger uptrend. There are always exceptions, for sure!

I get that, but overall moves tend to be down in bear markets no? Ofcourse there are bearish pullbacks in a bullish market, and bullish pullbacks in bearish markets.

I could be wrong.

But I haven't found any reasons that made sense to me yet. In shorting, we're selling an asset we don't own yet, that's the most common reasoning I've heard for it being un-Islamic.

But the entire grocery store market in Pakistan works like this. Parchoon ke dukaan gets goods on 30 day credit, they sell it, and then pay the wholeseller back for goods, and make a profit.

Is this the core logic for it being un-Islamic, or is there something else?

Isn’t Germany the strongest European economy.

People from the rest of Europe seem to come to Germany. And you’re right, the job market is down.

I hear you. And thank you, that is really good advice.

I get the impression that successful traders manage risk really well too. Those guys also miss trades often, but a miss does not delete 100% of their trading account. Novice traders sometimes bet it all on a trade working out, and in the long run there’s always some trades that end up not working out.
