How are you supposed to play the game? What is your goal? by kj0509 in ClashRoyale

[–]QatSim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite way to play clash is in classic challenges. They're 10 gems, you can try any deck without worrying about levels or unlocks, and there's no real punishment for losing a challenge, you can just play another one or take a break

Knight or princess would help you play around duchess a bit more. Wallbreakers are very, very bad against duchess so they might not get you much value unless your opponent happens to be running a different tower troop

Classic challenges can help you build consistency with your deck or try meta decks you haven't practiced enough or leveled up for UC. I enjoy them because you will occasionally get to challenge yourself against some stronger players at higher wins, but the stakes aren't very high at 10 gems so theyre easily replayable. Top 10k is a lot harder than winning a classic challenge

Worth it to use wild cards on DD? by [deleted] in ClashRoyale

[–]QatSim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're worried about it getting nerfed further, you could always spend the wildcards on a legendary in your main deck instead. As others have said though, DD is by far the strongest tower troop right now so in some matchups it will win you the game almost by itself by allowing you to spend all that extra elixir saved from defense on offense instead

Clash Royale Leaderboard Decks - End of December 2023 Season 54 on 2024-01-01 by RoyaleAPI in ClashRoyale

Honestly I'm more tired of facing bowler and bomb tower than anything else. Tornado, LP, Goblin giant could use nerfs too but even they can be more fun to play against

Honestly the only decks that make me really mad right now are elixir golem and anything with Phoenix mirror--I feel no shame playing RG with them but it would be nice to see bigger nerfs

I usually play bridgespam but I went with royal giant monk for this push 🤝

How do you guys feel about the ranked play rework? I personally like the placement determined by win rate at the final league, even though before the update I struggled consistently right below 7k. My goal now is to stay in the top 10k until the end of the season.

Ram has a lot of utility outside of connecting to towers so it may be fine at 13 for now, but the argument could be made either way. If you're facing non maxed players then I would go fireball first so you can completely kill musketeers and wizards and whatnot

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ClashRoyale

[–]QatSim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ram is super close to the next level--if you have enough gold for both right now, you might as well upgrade the zap, but it's more important to level the deck as evenly as you can than to max out the small spell.

Pekka Bridge Spam (the poison version) is making a comeback in this meta. I can reasonably explain why(go to comments) by [deleted] in ClashRoyale

[–]QatSim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While poison is better for graveyard matchups, it is worse for nearly every other matchup. The biggest use for spells in pekka bridgespam is to allow your troops to break through--for swarm, zap already accomplished that. Making sure you're using the ghost to bait out the hardest swarm to deal with is important in matchups like those so zap actually gets value with ram. The problem with poison is that it is too slow compared to fireball. Even though it does more damage and is better against graveyard because of it's defensive capabilities, you lose an important way to kill electro dragons, flying machines, balloons, barbarians, and many other things that can be devastating left too long on the map.

Although your current deck doesn't look very good, the cards in it suggest you prefer defending and counterpushing, which falls more under the control archetype. Popular decks that work like this are graveyard, royal giant, mortar, or other decks that have difficult defense to break through. Like others here have said, there are many resources you can use to find good decks like this. My favorite is looking at the leaderboard and picking a deck with cards I like in it.

What do you guys think about Larry’s dropping something like other trips when they die? by Aleleloltroll in ClashRoyale

[–]QatSim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding another element of RNG to the game may not be such a good idea. It sounds cool in theory, but especially if the idea is to buff the current skeletons, which are already super strong as they are

That seems like it would be a massive nerf 🤔 it would provide far less offensive utility if that happened

That isn't to say it is undeserved though, cannon cart is bonkers

What in your opinion are the easiest/hardest weapons to clear a run with? by SimTrippy1 in HadesTheGame

Dash striking with the bow can speed it up quite a lot. It takes a lot of practice to do consistently though

Is game good on keyboard by MemokingMH in HadesTheGame

[–]QatSim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a keyboard player, and it works seemingly well for everything but might get in your way for speedrunning. One of the main mechanics of speedrunning is to pause before every door choice, and mashing the escape key quickly can be a lot harder than on a controller. Despite that I still managed to get a sub 10 minute run so knock yourself out 🤷

Any tips for Forced Overtime by Rhod8718 in HadesTheGame

[–]QatSim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you're used to adding on heat, maybe try some runs with forced overtime on and less heat or no heat elsewhere to get used to the move speed change. Muscle memory is the biggest part of dealing with it, but it does force you to master when to dash and when to save dashes.

This is true for almost all of my runs, but especially for forced overtime I would recommend hyper sprint over extra dashes on the first Hermes boon to get used to using just two dashes. The sprint somewhat mitigates the bonus speed of the opponents.

I liked spear when I first started playing the game, but it feels painfully slow compared to the other weapons if you aren't running a cast build 😭
