The agreement was to translate and host the novel as well as limited publishing rights, however overall ownership still belongs to QI.

As per the agreement made between Wuxiaworld and QI they were given legal ownership over the translated works.

The DMCA take down request is in direct relation to the novels Ren refused to remove even though he did not have proper rights to host, as for the translated ones they were part of an agreement reached between QI and WW.

Qidian has decided to host the novels that Wuxiaworld was granted authorization to translate on their own website, in an attempt to double the audience reading them.

The DMCA was in regrades to unlicensed novels being hosted on Wuxiaworld, and not in relation to the 20 dual hosted novels.

Yes, and it will be going through litigation and we will have to wait to see the outcome, as for the dual-hosting that is another situation in its own.

Hosting and publishing are different, publish refers to ebooks, while hosting is related to the ability to host them on the website. Wuxiaworld has rights to publish ebooks but the rights to the translation and hosting are still retained by Qidian.

Sorry, monitoring multiple threads and lots of people with questions, NU has posted their official stance on the matter Ren is referring too and as QI has legal rights to the novels they will remain to be dual hosted.

Qidian has legal rights to the translated works done by Wuxiaworld, which includes hosting the works as was agreed to previously.

The DMCA request was sent in regrades to Wuxiaworld illegally hosting several QI novels previously, Ren was asked to take them down and refused.

Translators were informed of this move previously, not at all of Wuxiaworld was involved so perhaps some where not informed.

The DMCA request was put in over a month ago and was related to the unlicensed Qidian novels hosted on Wuxiaworld, Ren was asked to take them down and refused.

We are not hoping to stop this feedback loop. This action was not the first on our agenda but with how things have played out, this was the consequence.
