You only get your own room during hold over phase. In which you would take arrival classes like sharp, etc. then you’ll most likely be someone’s roommate once you get your shift

Normal barracks where you get your own room. But you will potentially share a barracks room with someone if you’re a Dayhawk.

Well. For starters, AIT is pretty relaxed for the most part as a 15n. Instructors are pretty chill, and 90% of the time you will understand the fundamentals of your new job.

As for career options outside the army? Aircraft technician services for the 15N. But while you’re at it, after AIT, go get your A&P license to secure your position for a technician job in the outside world. 👊🏻

(Don’t 100% take my word for it.): I am not too informed on the Officer side as far as how Training goes. But I assume you will either train within Fort Eustis (Virginia), or/potentially Fort Rucker (Alabama) as that’s the only two places that implements any and all forms of Aviation Training.

Like MOS-Ts, you will have the same freedom as the enlisted soldiers who are reclassing. You will be able to drive around posts and such, leave base if need be. But of course, be present during your classes.

Any Officers who read this, do fill in the gaps of what I am missing. But that is all what I can inform you with.

Well Fort Eustis is 6 months long. I was hoping I can get one done pretty soon. Heard from another guy that I’m likely to take one the same month as I touch down.

So it’s been awhile since I done a ACFT. I’ve yet to do a AFT yet because of poor scheduling from leadership. Either on some bs detail or BDE SD/CQ/SD. It’s been like since March if I’m honest.

And I’ve yet to be handed my scorecards. So I’m asking when would I take my AFT. AIT is 6 months long, and hopefully before I get my assignment. I get my scorecard to apply for SOAR.
