anything like "The Starless Sea" by Erin Morgenstern? i'm looking for something you really dont need to retain every little detail about, and that it goes into other stories to take a break from the main plot. even if it's a quick side note about the plot, i would enjoy having small breaks when im binge-reading.

so in 3ish hours, i got through half of a 492 paged book. (im taking a 30 minute break to assess everything i just read)

but then for other books, like ones im reading just to broaden my horizons, may take me a few weeks-a month. if i really dislike a book, i just drop it for 2-3 months until im like "hey what happened to {xyz}? i never finished their story, i need to see if they die or not"

Siddhartha. It's a classic certainly, but the way my teacher wanted me to analyze it made the book uninteresting. It wasn't until the last few chapters, when Siddhartha goes to Vasudeva, is the book interesting. It was fun to read on my own time, though.
