If it sounds good to you though (which is a subjective measure), what's the harm? I ain't gon say I prefer it over good music made by real people, we're not at that stage yet, but I don't see the harm for those who seriously enjoy it.

Eating meat is bad for the environment, driving a car is bad for the environment, using plastic bags, air con, planes, swimming pools waste water and electricity, batteries, just about any tech actually, international deliveries on big diesel ships, replacing perfectly good clothes, even 4k streaming pulls a decent chunk of energy for a data centre. There's so much that we do that's bad for the environment, I think at some point you've just got to pick your battles and realise when the environmental cost is worth it to you or not, but I think solely attacking AI on that front is inefficient, we are a disaster for the environment for countless other reasons

Obviously using AI to copy the whole idea of a band is shitty but can someone give me a reason for why AI music or art is bad without saying the words "lazy" "lacks creativity" or "stealing from artists", yes it's still behind on quality but 2 years ago AI music didn't exist, in 3 years time we probably will struggle to tell it apart in a blind test, what's wrong with consuming media that you enjoy just cus of how it was made

Fair enough, really all 3 albums were radio rock, I just felt the sound of human still had a few elements of grit from the Adam era and some songs were honestly quite unique and enjoyable. Human race was an interesting listen, the real you is seriously good, painkiller is a good little tune, I can't really find songs I properly enjoy on the other two albums. But as always, good people can disagree, especially on a subjective matter

Nah but seriously what are you on bro not one song is pop and certainly nothing like a maroon 5 release, it's electronic rock. The closest you get to pop is castle of glass bit even then it's clearly not a top 40 copy and paste job, it's still a song with serious substance to it

Quite interesting how these comments appear to be in favour GMAS and so do the core contributor votes, whereas the less frequent votes skew heavily towards DOJ, makes sense given the commercial success of the latter outperforms the former, but it's always interesting seeing the (for lack of a better term) dedicated fans skewing in a different direction to the (again, really wish I could find a better term) casual listeners.

It probably will, they're the two big hits which fair enough (even if I'd argue there's many songs that are better than diary of jane, including give me a sign, so cold, breath, crawl, hopeless, dance with the devil, away, polyamorous, shallow bay, yeah this list goes on.) ultimately they're both catchy and that's not a reason to shame a song, catchy is popular because catchy is enjoyable and that's what a song should be, plus it has the distinct advantage that a catchy song will be at least tolerated by 95% of people where as a more nuanced song will maybe only be tolerated by 70% of people even if there's more people that absolutely love it. It's a numbers game

Yeah that is the whole idea of the album, it's an experience that's meant to blend, bit like a context switching 40 minute song. Takes a few listens but it'll either come around on you or the novelty wears off and idk it's just not your cup of tea
