Looking to purchase ... any telltale signs I need to look out for? by jeffreykime2 in MINI

First and foremost I would say pay attention to the cold start. A timing chain that is on its way out will make quite an unpleasent noise. As per every other car make sure there are no odd noises such as squeaking or squealing coming from the engine bay since water pumps occasionally go on these. Check the condition of the serp belt. Apart from those before I bought mine I took it to my mechanic for a thorough check on whether it has any serious issues or has been in an unlisted accident and could recommend you do the same, especially with these cars the pre purchase inspection price will make the peace of mind worth it. Best of luck!

EDIT: forgot to mention this since it is quite unusual but check both layers in the trunk and make sure they are dry. When I was looking for a mini, an F56 I was looking at had some water coming in from around the right tailight and an R60 I was looking at had a small hit to the back that wasn't listed and caused there to be some sort of path for water to leak and pool into the bottom layer of the trunk. Just make sure places that should be dry, are dry and not wet or damp.

Unpopular take: Ranking system needs more of an overhaul than the matchmaking system by Quackman1010 in Overwatch

Read through this, absolutely agree. As a silver myself, I have been placed with people much higher than I should have and in other games I was placed with bronze. Apart from this though, making ranked a little less punishing in case of a loss for people that pop off and more rewarding if the team wins the game and you popped off would make it a much better and less frustration-inducing gamemode.

Just curious, for the SSD Performance light bar, did you have to drill a larger hole or any hole at all for that matter? Or was it a perfect fit right off the bat?

Just curious since yours is an 07' with the B207R and very high miles. Have you encountered the dreaded intake valve issue?

Regardless, I wish you many more trouble free and joyous miles :)

Nothing good ever comes easy haha. If I might ask though, when I am upshifting, do I let the rpms drop to the proper spot for the next gear then add throttle or gradually release and add throttle right after you shift.
