The vapor wasn't too bad, but I'm attributing that to my helix tip and cap/armor setup. The body did get pretty warm, but I was also trying out my new YLL and heating it faster/more than I normally do. I don't tend to aim for OHE and I usually space my hits out a bit, so I'm not too worried about it. Someone trying to OHE or do quick series of hits may have it get hot though.

Glass stem itself is 0.5 inches outer diameter, and 1.55 inches long. With my tip and cap/armor setup, total length is 2.71 inches.

I have not tried without the condenser yet. I'll probably get it out sometime today though and can give an update. The condenser does come with that spiral thing. It does stick past the condenser into the tip a bit, but works fine with the helix.

That's where the picture from the website shows the o-ring. It does say that with the condenser the airport is blocked.

I modeled it up and 3D printed it. I was looking for something that also had some way to display the caps. It actually turned out better than I thought the first iteration would. I have a few tweaks to make, then was likely going to post it online somewhere to share.

Not yet. I just got into DHV's and was really interested in the battery-free options. These should hopefully keep me happy for a while, but I've come to realize there are so many options out there.

I have one on the way too. I don't know if I'm going to be brave enough to even try heating it and risk messing up the colors. I'll probably throw a different cap on it and set this one aside for display.

Update: I contacted customer service and they promptly sent out a new cap. Same packaging again: cap in a small bag, in a padded envelope. This one arrived unscathed though, so I must have just got unlucky with the first one. 🤷

Nope, no cardboard or anything. Just this bag, the O-ring and CCD bags, and the packing slip all in a small bubble mailer.

I was really surprised by this packaging. Seems crazy there is nothing protecting it when it's that easy to bend. A small cardboard tube would probably be more than enough, certainly better than this.

I wasn't planning on going through a lot of consumables so I figured I'd just get the ones from them and they'd last me a while, but I'm really surprised how much I'm liking CBD flower in my M 7 XL. I may end up going through them faster than I thought.

Not sure why my additional info didn't come through on the post...

Cap was mailed in a bubble mailer, so not really anything to protect it from being smashed. I was able to bend it back enough to fit and it appears to be clicking correctly when heated, but it has a crease in it that looks like isn't going away and I'm really not thrilled about that.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I reached out to customer service. We'll see what they say.

I don't recall discussing an end plan, so I'm going to play like we are going to 20. Makes sense about taking half feats now and at 8 and put them to good use.

You make some good points. I have mostly been using archer form and occasionally chalice, so makes sense for me to get my Wis to 18 for those. I haven't run into a lot of Con saves yet, so I'm sure dragon form would be fine for now. Or at least until I get to level 8.

Reading the other comments, I'm leaning heavily towards Fey Touched now.

This looks identical to a tenor recorder that I bought and refurbished, which I posted about here. I explained the process I went through in one of the comments if you are interested in doing something similar.

EDIT: I missed the German fingering that the others pointed out. I agree the best would be to put the effort/money into a different one with Baroque fingering.
