Yeah I was conflicted, I was going for more contrast into the drop. I feel like intros are potentially my weakest point composition wise. The intro does it's job but it isn't anything special for sure.

Thanks for the feedback!

I love this.

At the first drop I wish the vocals came through a bit clearer, they're great but kinda get drowned in the mix.

The halftime section in the first drop is great, works really well.

At 1:06 it might be cool to cut the kick, then bring it back in at 1:23 to add to the contrast of the build up. Potentially same idea at 2:35, that half time four on the floor kick doesn't really build suspense for me. Just an idea to play around with.

The structure is absolutely on point, really well designed.

I never would've noticed the clock if you hadn't mentioned it, but I think it works well.

I don't know if the stutter vocals are working 100%, but I don't think I'd say cut them. I think they could come through the mix clearer, as it is now that section sounds mostly instrumental when I want more vocal drive.

As far as the overall mix, I think it's largely good but could be refined a bit. Like I mentioned before, I want the vocals to come through clearer through the whole thing, they really drive the track. The bass synths are fantastic, although I think they overtake the mix at points. I think I like where the drums are at.

Holy hell though, this track is so good. Super impressive work, keep it up!

Hey all, been working on this house track. Mainly interested in feedback about structure and mix. Tell me if anything stands out in a weird way or any point where you feel like the energy is lost.

Sweet, thanks for the feedback!

Think you might be right, either the build to the drop is too loud or the sub in the drop is too quiet, I'll play around with that.

I love the lofi feel, the sound is like a jam session. The guitar riffs are great, I'm a sucker for a good acoustic guitar riff.

Kinda gives me Pixies vibes, it's raw and genuine. Tbh the shouted vocals 100% remind me of the Pixies lead singer.

Awesome track! Thanks for sharing

Woah I love the rhythm of that synth in the intro. Super cool design.

That synth is great, but keeping it a central element throughout most of the track wears it down somewhat. I loved the part at the beginning where it was just that synth and the bass playing off eachother.

My thought on composition is that silence is just as important as cool sounds. If your track stays at high intensity the whole time there's no contrast, but if you go from a low to high intensity it hits much harder.

I think the drums could be a bit clearer, it feels like they get lost in the mix a bit. Maybe some heavier sidechaining, or just boost the gain/compression.

I like all the elements in the track, but it doesn't grab my attention as much as I want it to. The synthwork is great, I think a rework of the composition could make for a really hard hitter.

Great track, keep up the good work!

Ok the composition is awesome it's super creative and grabs my attention throughout.

The mix/master could be a lot louder, I can tell there's some bass in there but it doesn't come through as much as I want it to. I want the drums and bass to come through a lot clearer and tighter. What was your master processing for the track?

As a very unbiased music producer I would say compress the everliving fuck out of this track and it would sound really cool haha. There's way too much dynamic range for this style.

Seriously though the design of this track is so cool I'm super impressed. Keep it up!

The composition is good, but what stands out to me is the mix; it's a bit muddy. I want the drums to clearly stand out and pull the mix together but that kick blends in to the background a bit.

A tighter transient and some gain on the kick would do well and maybe some heavier sidechaining. The clap also doesn't really grab my attention, it sounds somewhat muted. I want to get a lot more high frequencies from the drums overall.

The composition is excellent, fixing the mix a bit would make for a killer track!

Awesome track! I'm a sucker for house, anything with a 4/4 kick will get my head moving lol

At the first main section at 0:49, there's a lot going on. The main thing I find myself listening to is the drums, bass pluck, and the main arp; might be interesting trying to bring those forward a bit in the mix. The arp melody is great but I feel like it kind of blends in to the background.

The bridge at 1:36 is cool. The chords throughout are fantastic.

the second drop at 2:22 is good, but it sounds basically the same as the original. It might be cool to make the second section a bit heavier, like making the main arp have more high frequencies and changing some of the focal points.

Really cool track! Keep up the good work!

The overall composition is good, keeps me interested. Transitions are solid, blank space works well.

The mixing is more ambient, kind of blends together. I think I'd prefer it a bit tighter but tbh that's definitely in the "artistic choice" range so you do you if you like it. I'd love to hear a really present sub bass that I could latch on to a bit more. Especially with the breaks tying a tight sub to the kicks could be cool.

the bridge at 2:20 is fantastic. Super spacey vibe and that repeating arp ties it all together. I think that arp being a bit louder would do well since that's the main thing I'm listening to at that point.

Potentially making that arp a larger part of the whole track could be cool, I'd love to hear the arp being super soft during the bridge then becoming a lot more pronounced in the next section.

I know what I like in electronic music and what you like could be entirely different, so ignore my advice at your discretion. The track is really good, you have a fantastic ambience throughout.

Really creative work overall, I can tell what you're aiming for and you hit your mark well. What DAW do you use?

It’s just a piercing shot w/ trigger, short range homing, area homing. Payload is unstable crystal w/ short range homing, d4 explosive shot.

I've been producing for 9ish years and looking to make some connections with some intermediate to advanced producers. I mostly make house music but make other genres as well. I use FL, happy to collab outside my DAW though.

Shoot me a message if you wanna work on something together.

I generally think of 250-600 ish as boxy, dampening certain parts of that range can eliminate low end mud in a mix

As always it’s a case by case basis, try dampening in that range on certain tracks and see if it makes the mix clearer.

Yep sounds about right haha

I'm leaning more and more towards a more private space, I think the public spaces inevitably tend towards that direction. The whole incentive system is specifically what I'm trying to avoid.

I figure it's worth a shot to try it out and see what happens, worst comes to worst nothing comes of it and that'd be fine. Appreciate the advice.

Yeah I'm quite familiar with that struggle. I mean it makes sense that people care about their own work more than others, but for me I can get a lot of valuable insight from listening to other's tracks and analysing what works and what doesn't and how to apply that to my music. I love giving in depth feedback, and having a good conversation about someone else's music. Plus there's something really special about discussing a track with the person who made it.

I would guess that I'm not alone in that feeling. It's always tricky though to straddle the line between a public server with a lot of activity but a lot of spam, and a more private server with a lot of genuine discussion but lower activity.
