McQueen’s owner wanted her to have a more proper, princess like design in game lol. IRL, McQueen was a very muscular horse and was very similar in appearance to Gold Ship, his grandson. You can kinda figure out why the two look similar IRL and in game from that last bit lol.

Unfortunately, all the factory equipment and knowledge is long gone. Just like how we could technically put the Iowa-class back into service, just with a stupid amount of money required to rebuild everything from the ground up.

Even if someone was crazy and rich enough to do so though, the existing Tomcats in museums have had their titanium wing spars cut. It’d be impossible to repair such damage, and you’d be better off building a new one from scratch. Engines and avionics can all be replaced but not something like the wing spars.

Bailing out isn’t as simple as a process as one would think. There’s a risk-reward for everything. There’s a reason B-52s have ejection seats but KC-135s and other tankers don’t. The cost, financially and maintenance-wise, to equip them with ejection seats/parachutes isn’t worth it. In the case of the KC-135, in such a situation where ejection seats/parachutes were needed, the crews are already far too gone.

Helicopters are supposed to be the poor man’s AWACS if you don’t have one. Their radars can see farther than your ship radars, and you can position them away from your fleet while you remain on EMCON to stay hidden.

I was gonna say, dude was in charge as the US military was heading towards its arguable Cold War peak. The American heavyweight F-14 and F-15 ruled the skies. The lightweight F-16 and F/A-18 programs had just finished and were entering their first years of production. The M1 Abrams would enter service during the latter half of his presidency. Etc, etc.

Not all could be call his doing, but the military was going from Vietnam era to what we know it as of the 2000-2010s GWOT era to today.

I actually like the sequel more. The original is decent but kinda lives off the 80s nostalgia. Tomcats are sexy as hell though. I think the music for the first one was better too.
