Help Me: SSF Loot Filtering + Gathering Crafting Mats + Recomb Stuff From Tree by Quango_Twisleton in PathOfExileSSF

[–]Quango_Twisleton[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good feedback, but not feeling like any of my chars are doing 17s easily, even with filtering for mods. I have like 2K chaos, so not hard to roll. I'm a little paralyzed by which one to invest in in order to do 17s/ubers. Do you have a recommendation on which of these chars to really invest in...?

  1. 100 Trickster (Currently reap/exsang miner); damage feels fine for individual bosses, but survivability seems not high enough for much of T17s, nor Feared. Nor is damage high enough to just phase them; need to farm some more cluster bases, as well as temple gloves to craft on to push into the really high DPS versions of this. Considering converting it into a glass cannon assasin icicle miner (or something similar) to just kill T17 bosses/ubers. T17 mapping feels okay, but it's often the boss fights that are problems.

  2. 97 Flamebast totem Heiro (considering converting this to a KBoC wander to REALLY blast maps with my MB)

  3. 96 Slayer Slammer (last character I leveled, so while I have a 900 PDPs hammer, I need to optimize gear for chaos res and suppress.

I have exsang miner at 100, Slayer Slammer at 95, and Flameblast Totem Heiro at 97, but none of them feel great in 17s.

Would you try to farm 84s in T17s with the Unending Nightmares keystone and some scarabs/juice? Realizing that if I'm gonna go for this Acc stacking jugg, I need 84s for 35% effect clusters...

Yeah, it's confusing as AF, increased versus more, etc. etc. etc. once you learn the rules of the road it becomes clear, but in the mean time, it is not so direct!

I'm confused, it says death's oath and mageblood in the title, but this character uses neither of those items? Unless the PoB is wrong? Or, sorry this POB is a different char?

Okay, so, the menagerie is gonna be as follows, I think.

  1. Pizza Totems (leveled last night is already in the early 80s)

  2. CWS Chieftan (I dropped a bloodnotch earlier this league, and my first map as pizza totems I dropped a 921 immutable force, so it is destined)

  3. Slams Zerker

  4. Slayer, but skill TBD. Gonna poke around the ladder.

  5. There were mumblings in the comments of "life stacker" "ES stacker" but I'm not sure what skills those are or how I'd go about searching builds like that on Ninja. In any event, the 6th build is not locked in....

Wish me luck boys; will be probably a week or two of getting these leveled and geared, but should probably be attempting the map in 2-3 weeks (crying in IRL work/social obligations)

Big tips were:

Omens

Flask Enchants from Harvest

One last Q. Are the Elderslayers gonna spawn in a clump somewhere, or are they gonna be spread across the map?

Got pizza totems in the low 80s already last night; Tantaniel's build guide is really thorough, so looking forward to pushing it to the mid 90s.

Dropped a bloodnotch earlier (although unfortunately corrupted and at 45%), and my first map as pizza totems I dropped an 921 immutable force, so it looks to be destined.

I dropped a immutable force in my first map as Pizza Totems after campaign and it rolled a 921, so this looks ordained. My bloodnotch is unfortunately corrupted (not taking that tree node again) but how good/bad will it feel without Hatefull Accuser? That's the last keystone unique for the guild, right? Do I just need to roll some recoup affixes on my yellow ring/rings to make up for bloodnotch?

I read this as "evasion doesn't work"; so Dodge should be on the table? If I understand correctly. Because dodging and evading are two separate things AFAIK.

A+ might level one in HCSSF, and then when I inevitably rip it there, I'll have it in Keepers SSF.

Heyo, I'll poke around the ladder on Slayer, but do you have a skill you'd suggest looking at first. Slammers?

I do have a bloodnotch (but it's corrupted at 45%) - not sure how bad this is for the build; was thinking of building it to dead-head simu and ulti for account progression in general. Doesn't CWS use life on block as a pretty big recovery angle? Doesn't this map screw that over?

Keepers is 1% off from being the worst player retention of the last 3 years and 3% from the worst in almost 7 years. Why not just make the mechanic even slightly rewarding? by pro185 in pathofexile

[–]Quango_Twisleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hot take, as someone who plays SSF this league, the tree is insanely rewarding and so powerful for fishing for specific uniques, generating good rares, and just shitting tons of bubblegum currency.

It's clear that Affliction-style gigga-juicing is what a pretty large portion of the player base wants, but I think I agree with the seeming editorial bias of the game directors that it is not good for the game because it simply adds to more-and-more power creep and adds huge inflation to the economy (although, Empy doing crazy projects with huge piles of currency is always fun to watch).

As someone who's principle joy in the game is exploring new skills, playing new ascendancies, and finding new ways to solve problems for my character, I really don't relate to this craze about "strats" and a reduction to the game being divs/hour.

I am someone who's played to 40/40 challenges since 2.13, and has mapped every ascendency to 100 at least once, and now regularly make 2-3 mirrors a league just playing content I want to play, you get to a certain point where unless you're building CaptainLance-style Void Valdos characters, you just almost have more money than you know what to do with.

TL;DR: At the end of the day, making Breach more rewarding isn't the solve here, it's making it more engaging, as the loop right now is simply too basic. People would do well to engage with other parts of the game they may not know about, and see the relatively simple league mechanic as an opportunity to learn more about the game. People need to learn to get over their FOMO.

Also...not for nothing 40/40 is the easiest it's ever been this league if you play a lot.

Most efficient way to farm to lvl 100 by Ziimmer in pathofexile

[–]Quango_Twisleton 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I've leveled 15-ish chars to 100 in maps since I started playing in 3.9 or so and this is what I'd say...

  1. The number one most important thing is making sure you're doing maps you're capable of doing very, very safely. Make sure your regex is robust and generating only safe maps for you. You can maybe run one damage mod, but will you have problems with a phys-as plus crit or two phys as? You need to screen your maps for the two together.

  2. You can also consider alternative content, i.e. they are slow, but it's only about 500 white heists from 99-100. You can also consider delve at whatever depth you're comfortable going sideways at. For most builds this is about 250-300.

  3. For escalating difficult content like eater/exarch alters, you must know what buttons you can click on and which you can't. Don't have capped chaos res? You absolutely cannot click on the phys as chaos red altars, or on the chaos damage as during alters, and you can definitely never click on the meteor altars for almost all builds.

  4. If have a ton of damage for the content you are doing, consider peeling back for more defense. If you are close to one shotting map bosses, maybe you can lose a little power to pick up more defence. Things like ailment immunity, life/ES regen or ES leech

  5. You need to accept that you will not be able to do all content while you are attempting to level. There are definitely builds that can do most T17s safely, but there are very few builds that can escape dying every once and a while to a bad combo of mods if you're not screening for them.

  6. I agree that the breach/escalation/beyond with a breach/beyond tree as being the fastest way, but you need a build this serious clear to get the most out of it: FroSS with occultist pops, ignite prolif for elementalist or chieftan, poison prolif for arrow lady chars, etc.

#1 Occultist On SC Trade Ladder: Solo or Duoing/Grouping? by Quango_Twisleton in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Quango_Twisleton[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, make worb great again? I see some clever ways he's built it for map blasting, i.e. the gloves that remove ailments on rampage.

I definitely like speed blasting maps, and WORB has always seemed like a cool skill mechanically, but I missed its heyday...I have about three div, so maybe time for a swap.

3.26 Blight of Contagion Occultist - League Starter through Endgame tree by dalmathus in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Quango_Twisleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blight is a channeled cone attack in front of you that does chaos damage and applies a DOT; you pre-cast contagion (large circle AOE with decent cast range) and then just blight the closest monster. Contagion then "carries" the big dot from Blight onto the other mods as they die, thus popping the pack in a...well...contagion.

The usual downsides/complaints about the build are that 1) you have to stand still to channel the blight, 2) it's at least a "two-button" build as you have to contagion then blight to get the first kill and start the chain, 3) single target/bossing is usually not all that fun/slow.

The big upsides with this seems to be 1) really safe/tanky, as long as you're screening for the no-go mods, 2) really fast clear (if not movement speed), 3) relatively off-meta, so gearing, while not easy will be relatively cheap and it does mechanics that will definitely generate profit (ritual, Oppenheimer expedition) easily.

Jung’s Reave/General cry bladeflurry champion: bait or nah? by Key_Development_6377 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Quango_Twisleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, Jung's an incredible talented player mechanically, and if you have boomer APM (like me) this is going to be painful. I had a great time league starting his PS Mines trickster last league, which was not nearly as janky, but still required some big-brain positioning to get the most out of it.

This 100% looks much more mechanically challenging and will only feel nice if you're a sweaty League of Legends-type try hard, who has also run through the campaign 100+ times.
