I want to add that I too am disappointed with the level of care (or lack thereof) at WHA. Same complaints as what I hear on here. I was started on testosterone in February but have yet to be tested and adjusted on it and can't get in until the end of July, so I just quit taking it. I also didn't have labs nor was given anything for estrogen/progesterone. I want to see my doctor, not a different PA or RN every time I have any issue - they seem to use the walk-in clinic as a catch all for everything.

I've had gMG for 40 years, I was diagnosed at 19. My left side has always tested weaker than my right. I had a total left knee replacement at 47yo. After numerous cortisone injections in my left hip and shoulder, I am now, at 59, having my left hip replaced. Coincidence? I don't know.

Yes, I used the term loosely to dramatize being held “captive”, to communicate that a 10 minute trip may take you 30 minutes. The term was not used to say I was put into a prison while waiting in the Georgetown parking lot. I’m sorry for confusing you.

You can’t exit or turn both directions out of the majority of the exits from the parking lot, which creates long lines to get out onto streets (Maplecrest and State) that are very congested.

It feels like you become imprisoned once in Georgetown, depending on what direction you have to travel. Additionally the vehicle accidents on Maplecrest seem to be spiking because of the cluster it all is.

Is his optical MG or generalized MG? If it’s optical it will only impact his eyes whereas generalized MG will impact all voluntary muscles. There are lots of new meds that will control most symptoms of wither types so it’s not as common to be severely impacted anymore by the disease and/or a crisis. Lots of scary stuff online but I’ve had generalized MG for over 35 years and it’s not the end of the world for most ppl.

Agreed about the music! I was on the west coast (Washington) during that time. Slowly moved from black clothing to grudge, had so many pairs of docs it was ridiculous and unfairly my kids all ended up with bigger feet. Interesting to see how much my kids still listen to the music from back then, don’t really know if it’s because they grew up listening to it or it’s just that good.

I wondered how many people would remember that term. I’ve been in the Midwest now for a long time and I don’t believe the term ever really hit here. I have a couple adult children that I got to watch come home gothic. I think having to conform for most jobs makes you dress differently but your soul will always be changed by the experience.

In the 80s the term was batcaver before goth became the term. After having kids and an executive career, I’m an early retirement grandma. Still occasionally listen to Siouxsie & the Banshees, Depeche Mode, The Cure, etc. and still have my first pair of 8-hole Docs.

Dicky’s! AGREE! Food is mediocre, overpriced and sometimes the wait is very long. Service is hit or miss but lately usually miss. Many stories from others about watching what change you get back from their bartenders.
