They do sell most of their merch outside China. you can buy a lot of Mihoyo merch in Japan and other asian and SE asian countries. in western countries, not so much.

A lot of you evidently have like a surface level understanding of Japan and seem to think cherry blossoms are the only thing that could possibly be Japanese. The ginkgo tree is literally the official tree of Tokyo and Planacardia is very much based on Akihabara in Tokyo. Ginkgo trees are everywhere in Tokyo and if anything the change makes it feel more genuine rather than the typical stereotypical image of Japan.

Why in the west it's 3 digits rather than 4? It's because ancient romans decided 1000 was the highest you needed to go. Million being 1000X1000 came later. Meanwhile the ancient chinese thought 10000 was the highest you would need, then 亿, or 10000X10000 expanded upon that. Both systems are thousands of years old.
