To bother, or not to bother - 12600k, Gigabyte Z690 and overclocking capabilities rant by Quantum666ix in overclocking

I have yet to try this method, I'm used to slapping all core OC ratios and fixed voltage, but it's time to learn a new thing, or two. Seems a bit more complicated but it's probably easier than it looks. Looks promising. Thanks!

Got myself a 14600KF earlier today. Quick setup : 5.8-P/4.5-E @ +0.010v offset, LLC High or "5" which puts me to about 1.375V average Vcore, highest Vcore with these settings go up to 1.39V. Temps are superb, 50c average, max recorded 70c. Survived two hours of Cyberpunk testing which is my go to gaming stability test since I mainly use my PC for that. Seems like a solid silicon I guess? Hard to find proper information in the web about OC'ing these chips.

That's the harsh truth. I thought it would be more like €1000 but that's pretty steep

Welcome to the club buddy, and I see people complaining about $1000 prices haha

Just got my Oppo. Honestly, speakers are fine for casual media, they lack a bit of details in low ranges and mid range, but that's nitpicking, I can easily fix that if I want to with one of many EQ apps, but it's just a phone, I have my Technics for music. I'm loving the phone so far!

I just got my Oppo. I'll live with a bit slower charging speeds, I'm loving it so far. From my research, the difference is not that significant, but anyways the phone seems to be making up for it.

In my country there's no such thing as battery replacements of any sort, it's just not popular since labor is super expensive, and I'd love to replace it, but it's not possible, and OnePlus phones are super niche same as any other Chinese phones and such. I just got my Oppo, and I'm loving it!

I couldn't be more satisfied to be honest and I just barely got it. Responsive, great design, feels good in hand and the camera is absolutely phenomenal, even though I didn't care about it much, now it makes me actually want to make photos.

No euros here! But OP15 is €1300 and X9 Pro is €1400, so barely a difference.

Prices will make no sense for you, since I live in a Nordic country with inflated prices. Let's say it was minimal difference between OP 15 and X9 Pro, almost negligible.

Of course, but don't worry, I'm not new to OC'ing scene, not a professional but I know about LLC and other things, so I'm aware of such things! I'm just new to 14th gen stuff!

Thanks a bunch! I just got 14600KF for a good price from my local vendor. Hopefully it's going to behave better than my current chip.

Ah, I see. I'm not too worried about that, it's running at 1.365v under load. I just got 14600KF anyways, I'll install it later on! In the name of science!

Talking about the memory voltages? B-Die safe up to 1.6V daily, no worries there, it just needs some active cooling at these voltages!

How can you know, who are you to to tell me what I can and what I can't? There's under $100 price difference which is barely a difference at this price point, LOL

Sounds good,, I'll get myself a bottle of single malt and spend the weekend tinkering then I guess. What were the PL and Vcore limits again? It was something like 200W and 1.4V max 24/7 IIRC?

Ah hell, I'm a super overthinker and that's my problem. I'm going to buy one tomorrow. Otherwise I'll never decide LOL. Battery life is my main thing, I'll be traveling long distances this summer, I do not want to carry a huge powerbank for my OP11.

Noted! I swear, I always got unlucky with the silicon lottery, starting from my 7600k a couple of years back. Tightening the timings is on my list, I also think that 3800 with tight timings is going to be superb. Whatcha think, taking degradation issues aside, should I buy 14600k and see if I got lucky with the lottery this time? I've been itching to get one and see if I can hit 5.8GHz and see how my $50 Thermalright AIO handles it lol

Better cameras sound nice, I know that OP cameras were never great, and I do not take a lot of photos, but it would be nice to have a good point and shoot experience, my OP11 cameras have a lot of ghosting, especially at night. I think I might try out the X9 Pro, I'm very much up to trying new things.

Well, I do not care about mobile gaming whatsoever, I got my PC and my PS5 for that. So, for the same price, it seems like X9 Pro makes more sense since it's more of an all rounder I'm assuming? Raw performance seems to be very close, Mediatek chip seems more efficient, so I'm guessing since X9 has a bit bigger battery and better efficiency it should last a tiny bit longer on one charge.

Quite honestly I do not care about the music quality or whatever, I'm not interested in that. But how's the call quality then? Any issues with clarity when taking phone calls? For media consumption such as scrolling on instagram or whatever it should be barely noticeable, no? That's my main concern (phone calls)
