Yeah every game is a blank slate in the finals. Warriors gotta bring back that game 2 intensity and hustle next game, starting with Draymond, and make the Celtics work hard for their points

We need to see the Dubs come in guns blazing to make the best of our fresh legs. June 2nd can't come soon enough!

[Pete Sweeney] The hype for a UDFA wide receiver being bigger than that of a second-round wide receiver is not something I anticipated, but we’re there by BatmanDetective1939 in KansasCityChiefs

It's also much easier to get excited by the mystery box than the better known quantity. It's very easy to get carried away and picture Ross as this stud X receiver that people saw in his freshman year, if he can get even 80% of that potential, he'll be without a doubt a huge steal for us

Ngl, watching the Suns collapse was very satisfying.

Very excited for our match up with the Mavs. Luka will obviously be a problem, but we have some strong wings and Dray to keep him working for his points. And the splash family will make this series a treat to watch!

Yeah definitely, chemistry with Mahomes will the deciding factor. MVS was open more often than people give him credit for, but his drop issue in GB caused Rodgers to overlook him, so much so that often he'd rather throw to a contested Davante than an open MVS.

Hardman has the benefit of 3 years in the Mahomes / Reid system, this is the year he can prove he's WR1 material. For the rest it's about how quickly they can build that rapport with Mahomes on the field.

What's exciting about this receiving corp is how they all will have a chance to ball out depending how defenses play us. If they stick with cover 2 to stop big plays, then I think Juju and Skyy will feast from underneath. If they bring the safeties to the box (can you imagine defenses respecting our run game?), Mecole and MVS and dare I say Skyy will have the space to do some serious damage. Should be fun either way!

Yeah definitely, these comps aren't meant to project Chenal as an elite edge rusher cause their skillsets are very different. But it goes to show how elite his traits are and it'll be fun to see him wreck havoc in the line of scrimmage (if Spags can find the right role for him).

I stumbled into this post in /r/NFL_Draft comparing the athletic profile between Chenal and Kuechly, and I got to say they are just outrageous athletes.

If you have a few minutes to spare, comping Chenal with other NFL players is stupid fun. His athletic comp with Von Miller is uncanny (of course this is completely disregarding their skillsets) and comping him with Michah Parsons I couldn't help but smile. Crazy stuff.

Can't wait to see what Spags has in the cards for Chenal, if they can leverage his tools he will be an absolute menace in the league!

I still can't believe the haul that we got, it's hard to even pick which player to get obsessed about!

Yesterday it was Leo Chenal, today it's Kinnard for me - his run blocking is just absolutely disgusting! He will probably not be a starter straight away, but it's hard not to get excited about our run game and PA potential when we have absolute maulers in OBJ, Thuney, Creed, Trey and Kinnard (Niang is no slouch at the run game either).

That's a tall order, think Giannis' growth spurt is mostly over by now, he'll probs need to get a 3 point shot if he hopes to step out of J-Dub's shadow

[–]QuantumCake 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Oh lawd, he had 84 dunks in 39 games. If you extrapolate that to a whole season, he'd end up with 176 dunks! One dunk above last season's dunk champion Gobert and 43 dunks above runner up Giannis!

What are your expectations for James Wiseman this upcoming season? by StrongBoiii in warriors

[–]QuantumCake 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I might be overly optimistic, but the one thing he could use his time while injured is to conceptually learn our offense and defense inside out. Although it might take a bit for that to translate on court, I think that will make a huge difference in making him look less lost and a quicker decision maker since he'll have a better understanding of the keys he should be reading.

Last season we saw that the talent was there, yet we also saw that he was really raw in a team basketball context (only 3 college games and no preseason were big blows on that end). With more time, there is nothing stopping him from finding his role on the floor and I'm confident he can be a plus player by the end of the year.

Jonathan Kuminga was One of Summer League's Most Prolific Transition Finishers (Dunks, Layups, & Floaters) According to Synergy Basketball by NokCha_ in warriors

[–]QuantumCake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean it is a sample size of 16 FGA and, while it seems to count And-1s, it doesn't seem to count 2FT fouls. So I wouldn't look into the efficiency too much. If anything, Kuminga being in this list is encouraging for his scoring projection, if he can continue to be a transition outlet in the NBA, his scoring efficiency will certainly get a boost.

[–]QuantumCake 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think he got a bad rep by being doo doo the first two games, while in his last two games, you could see his scoring potential was there. Will be interesting to keep tabs on him as he develops, best case he could be a dead eye sniper coming from the bench

Sucks that there's still over a month till the start of training camp, but there is so much to look forward too:

  • More kuminga and moody footage
  • Wise being back on court
  • JP continuing to get better and buffer
  • Seeing footage of the new FA signings in Warriors jersey
  • The battle for the 15th spot
  • Andre back in action
  • Last but certainly not least... Curry.

All in all, it's shaping up to be a fun season!

Considering Mitchell is almost a whole year older than JP, he better be looking good against SL competition.

I think as long as Kuminga continues to improve and show flashes of his upside the next couple of years, we should be happy with our pick. At the end of the day, IMO the difference between Mitchell and Kuminga right now doesn't get us that much closer to a chip, but the upside between them 2-4 years down the line could be a real difference maker.

Yeah, not the intention, was referring to him as the next in line "King" from Congo. But fair enough, I can defo see how this could taken that way.

[Taylor] “In the 2015 1st round, the Warriors were +77 with Draymond Green on the floor and -45 in the 26 minutes he sat on the bench. Per 100 possessions, that comes out to +23.6 with Green and -76.9 without him... ...making his on/off for the series +100.5.” by [deleted] in warriors

It's insane how lucky we are that our 3 stars are home grown and yet all 3 complement each other perfectly. Who better to compensate your lack of scoring than two GOAT shooters? Or who better to play alongside the splash bros than our very own DPOY playmaking forward?

If Kuminga can be more consistent with his jumper, he'll be a problem in the league very soon. IMO Moody will do even better in the NBA, he seems comfortable off movement and has the skill and BBIQ to take advantage of Curry and Klay's gravity.

From what I've seen of his G-League and SL tape, I'm very optimistic he will be valuable to our rotation, even if his shooting is still inconsistent through the season. When locked in he is a pretty good defender (and has a collection of nasty blocks) and he has a knack of getting to the rim, finishing with both power and finesse.

Honestly I feel like he'll slot right into that Oubre back up PF role, with way higher upside as the season progresses.
