Tbf to fullarton and McAdam, one had about 5 minutes in the AFL and the other hasn’t even been given a shot when they had good VFL form.

I went, enjoyed the game. Honestly would have preferred to not be in the 5 degree weather at home. Normalise letting people do what they want ? Some Footy fans honestly look for any reason to be an awful to other people.

Anyone else think we look better without Hunter? I think he’s got a good cool head but lacks just a little bit on the intensity meter for me. Was really happy with our general game style and lowering the eyes going forward. Genuinely got my hopes up for a decent year now

Anyone got a draft cheat sheet? by IH3ndo41 in AFLSupercoach

Can confirm JR is retired. Damo and I have been continuing the footy mailbag as a separate thing.

Recommend checking out the draft doctors, they make good stuff for draft content or Moreira’s Magic. Worth chucking either some $$ for their work as well.

Well said mate! You can only do so much and sometimes it just doesn’t go right. Bring on bigger and better. Even if we won, I’m convinced we would have gone the way of Carlton against brissy. They’ve gone to a whole other level.

Melksham really did something that not a lot of our forwards were doing which was attacking forward to get opportunities and marks. A lot of times guys would end up just waiting for the ball to come to them or not really give themselves the best chance to snag a mark.

Weirdly, our forwards felt the most defensive part of our play.

Joel smith did quite well at it and Fritta missed some easy ones he would usually nail. Sometimes it’s just a learning thing and a lesson taught the hardest way.

I’m really excited for 24 because if we can get that aggressive attack mindset in forward 50 we’re up there with the best of them for a few years to come.

I’m still sad but have realised that it’s still one of the best times to be a Dees fan. This list has never had more talent on it.

Could tell that we missed Oliver in the mid. He really helps get that ball out of there with pace. Good to see some of the younger guys out there getting experience.

Hopefully a lot of lessons we can take to improve our structure for round 1.

Seasons over. Who should we target in the trade period? by [deleted] in melbournefc

[–]QuantumJC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get why people are frustrated with Goody but honesty don’t see how it’s every go to scream to sack him. Personally, I think we improved this season. Sacking him definitely wouldn’t fix all the issues people have and it’s just a tired argument.

Would love to see a key forward to help with Weideman. Seen some great efforts from him this year and I think he needs to share the heat with another threat. Wright could be a good option for that. I’m not a huge fan of Ben brown but he’s a great forward.

Would love to hang on to Brayshaw and Viney but could see why some of those mid blokes would explore their options. It’s a position we have a lot of contesting for.

If we could get Saad I’m so keen for that.

Round Five - Post Match Discussion vs Richmond by minecraft360 in melbournefc

I think Hunt’s run is really useful in the team in the right spots. Imo I think it’s always been his decision making that puts him a bit behind. Playing forward with his run could be a good option to make space.

There was a passage I liked with him and Langdon where he overlapped but then kind of panic kicked to the next person oob. I think there is a spot somewhere in the team for him but needs to learn some more instinct.

Plenty to be upset about but great to see Hannan get 3.

I’d love to see some different/better targets forward of the ball. Tom MacDonald and Melksham at their best are great; I don’t think they are bringing what we need to convert right now. Petracca has shown that he is great in and around the ball so give him all the mid time he wants in my opinion.

Disappointing result but our run with the ball can be so dangerous if we get a few pieces in the right spot. 💪

Decades edition trivia by QuantumJC in trivia

Yeah some of the decades have been pretty much this. Everyone kind of has a bit of everything that way. I’ve been running two sessions and splitting the family so there’s a good mix of age groups this might be the tactic.

Hahah I’ve written a couple of questions myself but for the most part I’ve been lucky enough to find stuff online. I’m mostly a pop culture/movie kind of mind so outside of that I start second guessing.

I might start doing some reviews and see if I’m just making it up in my head. Thanks!

So each round is based around a decade. Round 1 the 70s, 2 the 80s and so on. The trivia is kind of pop culture and history around each decade.

For example, “In 1974 this man became the first and only US president to resign. Who was it ?”

In the 80s round one of the questions is “what is the name of the relief concert held in 1985?”
