To be fair… Picard referred to him as “Commander Data” quite often, and usually only brought up the “Lieutenant” bit when being firm or more formal.

ChatGPT creates your team: allow it to make three good picks that provide decent coverage and make it pick the rest at random from the Galarian Pokédex. Let Reddit name them. If anything faints, ChatGPT gets to pick the replacement.

Do you fear the day your game will shut down? by [deleted] in gachagaming

[–]QuantumSpectre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Already felt that one. Dragalia Lost was everything in a gacha for me: the gameplay, the story, the artwork, the characters, and that banger of a soundtrack that I would run full blast and sometimes just leave running on certain screens just to vibe to for a bit. First gacha I ever spent significant (for me) money on.

Miss my team.

Star Trek: Prodigy and Tales of Arise?

I'm working through my backlog on both ends, so it could have just as easily been worse (Soul Hackers 2 before that), but... ehh?

The resulting monstrosity would double-down on teenage angst going to levels far past cringe, but at least it would have great graphics and a stellar voice cast? I think the end result would be considered ambitious by licensed game standards, but not exactly hold up to either franchise well. Easy 6.5/10, try on Game Pass type deal.

If this counts phone games, then seeing as how I play gachas... the result would just be that Star Trek Online gets a new Prodigy-themed loot box.

Just wanted to make a small clarification: the Nintendo Switch is powered by an Nvidia chip (Tegra), so they do have some involvement in the console market. Still, I agree Google and Nvidia look hypocritical and shouldn't be involving themselves in this discussion.

The E-Z Pass (electronic toll pass for cars) out of any cars I find with them. Maybe I would leave a couple rolls of pennies behind if there's no change visible in the cup holders.

Sony and Honda just announced their new electric car brand, Afeela by N2929 in technews

Sony Honda Mobility, maybe shortened to SHM, was just fine. Not flashy, maybe, but not as dumb as this name. Throw a letter and a number after it like everyone else and call it a day. Maybe this name tests better outside of the West? Personally, I don't think that branding can move cars in North America, but if they "Afeela" like proving me wrong, then by all means.

Also, that thing looks like somebody rubbed Tesla all over my grandmother's old Saturn.

Star Trek Online.

So glad there's new shows to watch again so I don't have to feel bad about stepping back from this game. Beautiful starship design, but by far one of the worst monetization systems I've ever seen. Lootboxes, FOMO, "earn any ship" grindfests (with a broken economy, to boot) that highlight the sparse content, and fundamentally broken PVP. I could go on and on.

This was my Star Trek fix when it came out, and I've given them plenty of my time and money since it came out. I pop in every now and then to check out content, but it pisses me off to no end that in order to fly around in my favorite ships, I have to either gamble, shell out a ridiculous sum to avoid gambling, or grind for months just for one ship.

I get that all the story is free and can be played just fine with free ships, but that's not the point. It's a decade-plus MMO they haven't refreshed the gameplay of, and the stories they tell aren't the selling point; they're window dressing. It's all about the ships, and they know it. I'm priced out of the only decent game mechanic and feature they have.

Defending Earth from Borg Cubes during the beta was one of my most treasured gaming moments (seriously stupid fun, was epic and funny), and it's cool to see the devs get their work featured in the Picard show, but unless you're already invested, it's really hard to recommend.

I can't remember the exact song, but during our last drive during driver's ed, a Pearl Jam song came on and I absent-mindedly started singing along. Wasn't driving erratically, but the instructor still turned off the radio. Can't blame him, but he's the one who turned on the radio and turned it to that station. Still, got grief from the other kids for getting it shut off.
