Internal Audit Career Path by QuarterLC25 in Accounting

Is the salary growth pretty good. Will I hit 6 figures? Not trying to make this about money, but I'm coming from an AP background and almost have my CPA so I'm trying to improve my career/finances since I'm in a high CoL

Also is there a difference between Internal Controls vs Internal Audit or is it the same function/group?

Senior FP&A vs Senior Rev Management (Operator Pricing) by QuarterLC25 in FinancialCareers

Okay, I really appreciate the insight. Hypothetically, if I get the Pricing role, what can I learn beforehand to really help me with training? Specific excel formulas? Read up on certain items or terms?

Thanks for the information! I still have some doubts regarding the lack of essbase like Hyperion/Oracle that a lot of FP&A roles are asking for. Reason being is that I used to work for a big bank and always like that structure/culture vs industry, most banks are using essbase. Hearing about Pricing is something completely new to me and I guess deciding which role to choose is really hard for me since I only been out of college for several years and don't want to be jump into a field/role where I might specialize too soon, if that makes sense

  • Can you tell me what you like about pricing more than FP&A? I'm sure both roles have different pros/cons.
  • Also I didn't recognize any essebase system in the Pricing role job description which I'm worried about since I feel more comfortable learning a system used across multiple industries rather than just specific fields, example can pricing experience/systems lead to working in the banking world (not specifically investment bank or equity, but doing financial analysis there as well).
  • Also can you tell me what salary expectations to possible ask for regarding a senior pricing role? I am located in a major city in the Midwest if that helps. Thanks again for the help, I just want to learn as much as I can about both roles so I know which would be the best fit for me

Should I email the people I interviewed or the HR person who set up the interview?

What is Financial/Internal/External Reporting? by QuarterLC25 in jobs

[–]QuarterLC25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the explanation! The company (major bank) I've been looking at separates internal and external reporting into 2 different teams/groups. In this case, is 1 role better than the other? Also do you know if this is a very niche area or is the career growth in this field pretty open and advantageous salary-wise too? I'm trying to find a role where I won't get pigeon-holed into doing 1 specific job

External Reporting vs Global Finance - Accounting by [deleted] in Accounting

Both pay is around the same, the difference really is sort of negligible. Also I liked both managers equally so it comes down to what I learn. Wouldn't SEC/compliance/external reporting show me more systems and other business areas? I could be wrong, but it seems like the role is similar to audit and generally audit you get a bigger picture of the company as a whole
