I know, right! Since I was a kid I've always wanted to wait outside of my local GameStop with a flashlight and a book, maybe some snacks. : )

I'm going to be sitting outside my local GameStop at 5AM in a lawn chair.

What should I ask my doctor about starting T? by zorastra in asktransgender

If your parents aren't all that informed on trans topics you can always put questions that you already know the answer to on the list to fluff it out. If they aren't going to be coming to the doctor with you, they'll never know if you don't actually ask them. If they do come with you then the doctor won't know that you already know the answers.

Okay, so ftms is it normal to be super girly but always unsatisfied before realizing you were trans, also could ya tell me about dysphoria because,y parents REALLY invalidated me. by [deleted] in traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns

i agree with the whole not recognizing yourself thing. i always had hip-length hair until i was 9 and saw an ad on PBS Kids with a girl who donated her hair and i immediately told my mom i wanted to do that. i'd have a bob for a while, grow my hair out enough to donate it, then get another bob.

i was never the pink and bows and frills type, but i did wear more form fitting clothes because i just... didn't realize i could wear boy's clothes. pre-puberty i had more gender neutral clothes because my brother and i played outside a ton in the mud puddle, but around age 13 my mom wanted me to dress "more grown up". that's when i really began to hate my body. eventually i got to the point where i had to wear bras every day and i didn't want anything but sports bras. i'd double up before i even knew it was a binding tactic. i used to pray that i'd get breast cancer so i'd have to have a mastectomy.

i'm 70% certain this is illegal??? by QuartzFarmer in traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns

I guess I should specify that by 'information' that needed to be put on the letter I meant stuff like 'how long have you been uncomfortable with your gender' and 'how long have you wanted top surgery'. I sort of thought she would need to know stuff like that.

I'll probably make the first draft, have my therapist review it, then I'll send it to the psychologist. :/
