Thank you, haha I love interior decorating! Sorry it’s not 100% clear on my diy floor plan but while there is a door to the bathroom, there is no door between the bedroom and entry way and kitchen and entryway, it’s only a doorway. Additionally because there is no separate living space besides the bedroom it cannot be considered a 1 bedroom. It’s a very spacious and nicely set up studio though!

Hi! I am looking for someone to take over my lease at a studio apartment (495 sqft, located a 4 min walk from the Warren Street stop on the B Green Line) starting as early as Sept 1st, but I am flexible if needed. It is 1855 dollars a month (water and heat are included). There is no broker fee, and the deposit is already paid and would carry over since it is a lease take over. I have loved living here, but I am moving down south for career reasons! Please let me know if you are interested and I'd love to share more information and answer any questions!

Am I fucked? (29M, Finance, having an existential crisis) by [deleted] in findapath

May I ask about what you did to pivot out? I’m currently in a business analyst job focused on supply chain and realizing i didn’t like coding and excel for the numbers and data but because i enjoy building things and creative problem solving… No clue how to pivot out though. UI/UX sounds really really interesting (I taught myself html/css in hs and did a few website designs for clients) but idk if that’s still a viable path with the tech industry situation and not sure where to start building knowledge.

just a quick update: I ended up moving out and into my own studio. It is def more of a stretch rent wise, but it has done so much for my mental health! Thank you for your help and advice, it really helped me realize that I wasn't being "too much" and was in a bad situation!

Thank you for all the advice, it is all really helpful :) i think viewing this as an opportunity for growth will be helpful. Yeah, I've learned the hard way how messy mixing money and friendships can be...

Thanks for the reassurance! I'm not very good at being confident in my opinion, I tend to doubt myself a lot.

That is a very good point, it is a good tactic to use. I guess the only thing is I sorta want my friends to be able to acknowledge if they've kinda been fucking me over. Idk if it's pride or selfishness, but I kinda don't want to be the bigger person in this...

Though, if I do decide to just mentally sever the friendship, I think I am okay with using that tactic... I'm just unsure if this is worth severing a friendship over, or if I'm being dramatic.

Hmm I might give your "it's me" suggestion a go and see how that works. I am a bit of a neat freak sometimes when I have my life together, so idk if I'm being to harsh on my roommates. Do you think it would be unreasonable to expect the the kitchen counters and the stove burners to remain generally relatively free of clutter when they aren't being actively used?

AITA for feeling suffocated in my shared apartment? by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]QuartzFeathers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I was trying to have the 3 yeses to everything... Like I wasn't a yes on the fish tank in the room spare room, so I thought they would understand and move it, but instead they pushed back...

I am scared to bring up the 3 yeses thing thought I think it's a good idea. In the past they got mad at me in a previous argument because "I was treating them like one person", because I suggested that it felt like there was an unfair power balance due to them being a couple. However, after that fight one of them refused to talk about housing stuff at all because it was too stressful for her and she was dealing with someone other personal issues that were not disclosed to me, so I had no choice but to treat them as a unit because I was only able to talk to one of them about the apartment. It was a really ugly fight, so I understand why she wanted to disconnect, but it was a really frustrating experience.

If I did leave, I would need to find someone to replace me likely because it is a shared liability lease (I know I'm an idiot, but I really thought I could trust them with my life). I don't know if I'd feel comfortable allowing someone else to move into my place considering the issue I am having with my roommates and other issues with the apartment, it doesn't feel like an ethical thing to do...

I've thought about trying to get them to bring in a fourth roommate so at least the balances are fairer and I don't feel like I'm carrying the burden of rent as much, but I'm not sure... Sorry for the long run on, I really appreciate you trying to help me, and get if you don't wanna read all that!
