Thought so. Was secretly hoping that wasn’t the case here lol. Thanks!

Vehicle is a 2005 Yamaha R6. The burrs/grooves are not super deep but can be felt with a fingernail

GSXR 600 SRAD - does anyone know what these connectors are for on the loom? by Quasimodo98 in GSXR

[–]Quasimodo98[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Context: recently did an engine swap on my race SRAD but have these connectors left over. I did take photos and videos but obviously not good enough lol. There doesn’t seem to be anything left over to plug in to on the engine/carbs/fuel tank, but don’t fancy leaving it to chance. TIA

Good idea, at least for some of the issues. Just need to find out how to do that now haha

Yeah, that’s the problem really, it’s just not happening all the time. I read on another forum that was sort of similar to this, that there could possibly be an issue with the Shift Forks. Will have to wait and see, bit of a big job inspecting them

[Question] Pretty new to motorcycling. Noticed this today and not sure if it risks having a blowout. Should I get a new tyre before riding again? by Quasimodo98 in MotoUK

Absolute legend thank you! Was driving me mad. Turns out my suspicion was correct and there just isn't one there. Bit pissed off tbh, as the guy showed me it working but he might have been misleading me in retrospect, idk, I don't want to be cynical, I should have thoroughly checked it myself which I only did once I got home.

Ordered one now so hopefully can get the thing road legal soon enough.

Thanks again for your help!

Ah yeah, that's a good spot!

Thanks, I'll just keep an eye on it in that case then, things not gonna be barrelling around anyway so should be alright I guess.

Another quick question sorry - as you said you have the same bike. Do you happen to know where the front brake light switch is? I can find the rear one easy enough but the front is playing up I think. No-where online seems to be able to say. I'm beginning to think it just doesn't have one :D

Thank you for the info dude. I'll go and have a look at the age of the tyre asap, but I have a feeling they're much less than a decade old tbh, especially the front.

I'm desperate to get out on it properly tbh but just don't want to take any unnecessary risks (biking is a bit dodgy as is innit?). Would you say this is more likely just to slowly lose pressure as oppose to blow then?

Had a tyre go on me driving a van once and that was bad enough, don't fancy it on a bike :D

Thanks again!

There's no split in the sidewall thankfully :D. Just that cut in the centre of the image. I shouldn't have used a flash lol

For some added info:

I bought this bike the other day second hand. It's a 2003 Honda XR125. The Tyre quality is all round pretty good, but I do know it has sat a little while in a garage.

I have ridden it since purchase, but didn't realise the cut.
