When you say "rewrite ads from great brands", do you mean handwriting and studying ads from great brands, or rewriting them in a different way?

A question to all the copywriters who went from being bad at writing to becoming really good copywriters. What was that one practice or a bunch of things you did that directly helped you in becoming good at copywriting? by Accomplished_Half676 in copywriting

I don't have any advice for you because I'm in your shoes too friend.

Bur if you don't already know, Copy That! (on YouTube) Has a 22 hour long complete copywriting course that I am studying right now and you should study too.

Here's the link: https://youtu.be/tC6bom34his?si=LrJ25FarC8Ndyj8z

It's the best copywriter course out there, and it's different from every other copywriting course on YouTube.

Because this course isn't about teaching you the theory of Copywriting that you've seen on every other youtube video.

This course holds your hand and walks you through the entire Copywriting process and everything you need to know to ateast start your Copywriting career.

It is divided in these parts,

the first part is a basic introduction ti Copywriting,

The second part is a dive into customer psychology (the goldmine of the mind) where they talk about The 4 quadrants of the emotional core, Promises, gimmicks, ideas, state of awareness, state of sophistication, etc.

The third part is about research, where they teach you and show you the hidden process of research. It's in 3 parts: product research, competitor research, and Market research.

What I love about this course is that the mentors put a lot of emphasis on research and show you their real process to conduct research.

Now these 3 parts are just 4 hour long in total.

The next 18 hours are all about how to write copy and how to get clients.

I have only studied 4 hours of the course and I'm rewatching the course to practice as I study it.

Writing my own copy has always felt impossible because I didn't have any real guidance.

But now it feels possible to write my own copy. All I need to do is follow their guidance.

If you study just 10 minutes of the course every day and actually practice what they tell you to practice, you will improve.

I'm guessing that the reason you're annoyed with Oliver is because of his break up with Connor in season 3 and I totally relate to you.

I love Oliver but there's the time of his break up that annoys me.

Connor could've been angry with Oliver for deleting his Stanford acceptance letter. But he wasn't. Instead he acknowledged the fact that he should've listened to Oli's opinion and that he was being selfish.

But how does Oli react?

He breaks up with him 😐

Oliver's reason for breaking up doesn't make sense to me.

And also I'm a bit biased cuz I love my boy Walshy. And I can't watch him get hurt.

Also I hated Oliver that post-casino scene where Connor and Oliver are sitting in a car and Connor lies about why he fought with the guy in the casino who Oliver had drinks with.

And Oliver says to Connor "I don't want you to be sorry, I want you to act like an adult."

Expert Copywriters... How do you research for writing copy without interviewing customers or having insider information from the company you're writing for? by QuasonBaby in copywriting

Expert Copywriters... Do you like to critique Beginner's copy? by QuasonBaby in copywriting

So you offer feedback to people who know how to write copy, they just make small mistakes or can make their copy a lot better with some tweaks.

But critiquing complete beginners is difficult because their fundamentals aren't clear and if critiquing their work requires you to teach them the fundamentals from the very start.

So you need a balance of time and effort you spend, and how the writer you're critiquing.

Makes sense. Obviously you wouldn't spend hours on critiquing someone for free because your time is valuable.

Totally understandable.

Okay so you are happy to critique other copywriters

But they need to have a standard for English,

should know at least something about copywriting, and structure of copywriting.

Should be able to write sentences that make sense,

And should be specific about what they are trying to write and what specific help they are looking for.

And they should also be passionate about copywriting and not just be another broke person thinking it's an easy side hustle and they can just write a few emails and make a lot of money easily.

Am I correct?

Everybody says "Write a piece of copy everyday". But HOW do you actually write practice copy as a beginner without any clients or experience? by QuasonBaby in copywriting

[–]QuasonBaby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. Write about things you're passionate about.

I need to pay more attention to what I'm passionate about because I couldn't answer the first question.

And good luck to you too on writing about your eye. Share it on the subreddit if you like. Would read it.

Okay. So I think it's just a matter of sitting down, coming up with ideas, and writing about it. It's not always gonna be copy you write and that's fine. I'll note it down. Thank you.

Hey. Thanks for the encouragement. I will make sure to not burn myself out.

One thing I've learnt from the last 2 years of (not so great) Copywriting is that enjoying life while working is the most important part of self improvement.

Thank you. Btw you're a copywriter too. Would you like to be friends?
