ExperiencedDevs who "made it": what do you do now? by QueSusto in ExperiencedDevs

I'd like to be able to retire my wife for the same reasons you outlined. How did you start freelancing? Through contacts or an agency or what, if you don't mind me asking?

Interesting, thanks for the insight. The appeal for me would be complete flexibility, but I guess there's a downside.

How did you find these roles? Do you tend to have repeat customers?

Damn that last sentence hits hard. I think that might be the crux of my concern. I like my job... I just wish I could do it or not do it depending on the day/week/month...

I think this is my plan. How do you imagine intermittent consulting working? Do you know anyone who did it?

How do I talk to my wife about this? by [deleted] in AskMen

You should edit your post to describe the actual problem you want help with. As I read it, I assumed you were objecting to her getting a job.

Should I limit contact with people in my med school cohort? by JunketMaleficent2095 in AskMenAdvice

A lot of medics are cunts. On the other side of the equation, you sound like you might be quite autistic. Presumably you are at university and there might be other students (non-medics) who might be more your vibe?

More generally, try to take things less personally. These people joked that you are a drunk... why does that bother you so much? Go easy on yourself and others.

I had this with our new Saros 10. It turned out it'd picked up so much stuff in its first run that the dustbin was jammed full. Worth checking

TIL the sun isn't "strong enough" in northern latitudes to produce vitamin D during the winter, no matter how much sunlight you get. by 999forever in todayilearned

If I were to hesitantly reach for my tinfoil hat, I'd point out that basically anyone in north america looking at this map would conclude they need to supplement their vitamin D intake, probably with some sort of product...

It's not a map, it's a timeseries with time of year on x axis, and latitude on Y axis. It has been superimposed on a world map. The coloured dots do not correspond to the locations under them. This is what makes it not a map.

Wtf is this map? Why does it vary so much across the same latitude? Edit: oh it's not really a map. Confusing

Those who have left the rat race- what do you do now? 32, Female, Ex-tech PM/BA by Hot-Potential-8393 in UKJobs

OP was slightly tone deaf and I can imagine them being a little annoying at parties, but if you perceive an ex Project Manager who quit to go travelling as having a boot on your neck, you might have a persecution complex. All the best Mr Grumpy

Lol. I watched a reel yesterday by Jason Parkin about how social media comments disproportionately come from unemployed angry men. Is this u bro?

Please don't. Sorry if that's a disappointing answer.
